You have to know the ref number from the V5. It verifies insurance via the insurance database that the police and solicitors use. Not sure how it copes with MOTs, but theres a lot of explaination on the site.
Blimey hi Rich hows it going mate?!!!! Long time no chat! Hows Ella?
The 172 has to go unfortunately, nowhere to keep it, not to mention the fact that I need the money to fund the V6. I was pleasantly surprised at the insurance on the V6 too - £740-ish. Waiting for a delivery date now.

its still quiet though. They pissed a lot of people off when they forced everyone to re-register.
At least on a Megane you get the opportunity to swap fronts and rears around. James is right though - on a FWD car youre going to kill a pair of fronts in a (track)day - I bought a big pile of Contisports when I first got my 172. Its a shame to own one of these cars and miss out on trackdays...
youll hear, or maybe even feel a dodgy wheel bearing when you steer the car in different directions. The alternator is more difficult - when it goes the accessory belt comes off and you lose power steering and electrics - happened on our Megane (same engine) was a bit scary. As I said though -...
Good idea then - broadens the appeal of the range, more Renaultsport Clio owners = more power to our elbows. The 172 Cup turned out to be a really good thing - so will this IMO.
At 33,000 miles the only things that might be dodgy are wheel bearings, which dont last long. The 1.6 engine is pretty bulletproof, accessory belts go, as do alternator bearings (quite expensive too).
They did a limited edition of the 172 called "PS2" in France - never made it over here. Expect lots of limited edition Clios now - new model coming soon.
Youll deform the sills with the standard jack - doesnt do any harm, and certainly wont compromise the chassis, but looks a bit of a mess. Trolley jacks do the same, but there are some strong points under the car that you can use instead. Trouble is the car is quite low, and some trolley jacks...
I know what you mean mate, even with mine away at Uni etc therell still be times when Ill wish I had more than 2 seats and some extra luggage space. Still, Ive waited a long time to get a car like this, so BRING IT ON! :D
