I have a mk1 172. I like all the incarnations of Clios. If the Cup was around when i was buying my mk.1 id have probably bought one - like the wheels, colour and if they ever decide to make warranty-friendly mods, that too.
All great cars. Im pleased with mine. Obviously like the toys (?)...
Nice car and very quick! wouldnt mind one of those with i think its got the tickford V8 twin turbo or something to that effect.
Saw a very nice mk.1 (?) capri with a 350+bhp V8 in at the Brooklands airfield South of England legal cruise a while back. Where the scrubbed-up cossies were doing...

Thatd be mighty useful if you could forward them over to me if you woudlnt mind? Ive been meaning to get it sorted.
When i asked my renault garage they had a chat with me on the phone claiming i lived near railway lines and it was the sparks from the trains!! jokers.
Could you possibly send...
hi ian - ive lived with the rust spots for ages and dont really want to be without my car for so long. Did they do a good job respraying it? and did they put it back together properly once they had?
thanks, si
Gizzmo GA GA!!!!!! Arent you a little too short to drive a car? (sorry about the gremlin jokes)
Unless its a bag of McCains thrown in the engine bay, a carbed gtt isnt going to be chipped in the same sense that hes thinking. Unless he had electronic fuel injection installed with ecu etc...
it seems clios arent the only cars to attract bugs at high speeds, and also not the only ones with thin/cheap paint work:

haha - like the tescos trip post... reminds me of my lottery ticket detours
I used to work as a valetter and they had a diesel-powered jet washer for the scoobys there. The best thing for flies was bug and tar remover, the clear stuff (not sure where you can buy it - halfords?), just spray...
My cars done 29,500 ish miles: mk.1 172 iceberg silver Y reg

Hehehe. The notorious high-stake battle contenders meet for a dual: In the red corner "The Road Warrior" and in the blue corner "The Executioner"......lets get ready to rumble!!! (said in a Tif Needel accent)
yeah and you have to adhere to the racers code. This is not hogging the road when the winner is trying to overtake, and to move out of the way if youre in the fast lane. Also the hazards/fogs/main beam flash of recognition that signals the end of a worthy toast. The "im admitting defeat" is...
Its good to have a post like this to liven things up. When people refer to "racing" i always take it as: either off the lights toast upto the speed limit. OR onto the dual carriageway (haha, a very apt name, maybe thats why its called dual!) from a slip road or roundabout upto whatevers a...
Stripping out our cars from uneccesary bulk is the best/cheapest mod available.
Im wondering and ive heard from people that it is classed as lightening? I was also disgusted to have been told you have to inform your insurance if you are going to do this to your car?
Just thought id warn...
Recent easy toasts:
Utterly toasted a modded white 205 cti with big bore etc. The distance between us was amusing. When i toast someone like that and can see theyre still trying ill just keep my foot planted and reach terminal-velocity creating an embarrasing gap between us both, not just...
rhys - ill weigh my spare and report back asap!
timebomb - i see what you mean, itd be nice for a change and i agree itd be good to go for something with more tuning potential. Are those anniversarys still available? i was led to believe they only made a limited number? i could be wrong...
maybe? who knows. You cant get an accurate weight of a car unless you weigh each corner seperately - i.e. not on a weigh bridge. (so ive been reliably informed) something to do with the suspension pusing to the sides.
presumably the spare weighs 15 kg? has anyone weighed it?
The cup has the...
the CUPs lighter than the mk1 - according to my mk.1 172 manual mine weighs 1035 kg and all the press say the Cup weighs 1021 kg (dry weights). Ive come to the conclusion that the mk.2 172 weighs 1059kg.
The cup is about 170 bhp per tonne and the mk.1 is 166 bhp per tonne and the mk2 i make...
Ok il "wait"...... Always up for a toast.
