HELP!!!! 182 LADY IN NEED OF ADVICE.....CAM NOISE!!!!!

There's another French Specialist place in Derby near Bristol Street... dunno what they're called but I remember diagnosing a timing issue once and the customer went to them for a 2nd opinion (this was on a Megane not a Clio). This place told them I was wrong and all it needed was a camahaft...

They came in today Dan ;-) A possible tensioner issue was also mentioned but honestly, sounds like head/cams scored.

So its a Solus then... keys need updating. I'd start by checking the power and earths then seeing as that was flagged.

172 running problems after belts changed

Just because you TipEx the existing positions relative to the pinned crank doesn't mean that a new belt, when correctly tensioned up, will allow the sprockets to be in precisely that previous position (Remember that full degree's are also measure in Minutes and Seconds and it only takes a Minute...

Air bag light on due to different steering wheel!??

Freds definition of reconfiguring an electronic module is setting it on fire and laughing like the evil genius he is.

Fault code 187 trigger line problems airbag

Yes it would but the key to this issue is two fold:- 1 - The SRS Module has been replaced with a 2nd hand unit. 2 - The code read description says "Trigger line configuration" The unit he has installed is not correctly configured for his car and so needs CLIP.

1999 Automatic Clio MK2 RT 1.6 not working :'(( ECU PROBLEM!

Then I'd echo previous comments and say take it to someone that knows what they're on with then as the previous attempts obviously didn't have a clue. I have a natural distrust for SnapOn code readers on French cars as they've never been particularly 'strong' and they're only as good as the...

Fault code 187 trigger line problems airbag

Then there's your issue... 2nd hand module. The hardware is the same yes but the configurations vary greatly from vehicle to vehicle depending on age and spec. You need it reconfiguring to suit your car.

Are dCi's really this good on fuel??

Not really - we have a 1.2 16v tCe which does 43-45mpg around town and sat crawling through city traffic. Your dCi would be around the same in start stop traffic to but the fuel costs more not to mention when things go wrong on a diesel they empty your bank account with it. Diesel owners are...

Are dCi's really this good on fuel??

Drive a Megane II with the dCi'80 and then say that. I had one for two months and promptly got rid as no heroic MPG is worth catching a cold faster for.

    clio dci pump timing

Or do it the proper way... 19 teeth on the timing belt from the cam sprocket mark to the HP Pump mark. A new belt should also have white marks to take all guess work out anyway.

Are dCi's really this good on fuel??

They're good on fuel yes but thats because it takes 2 days planning and preparation to overtake something in the dCi '65... slow as fek

Sounds like someone has tried to configure it and got it wrong. 2nd hand module fitted maybe (do the VINS match)?

STOP/BRAKE light flicker on dash, fluid level fine, breaking solid?!

Unplug the brake fluid resevoir level sensor from the cap and take it for a drive. If the light stops replace the level sensor. Also check you don't have brake pad wear lines as these catch on the inner arch and do the same.

MS Excel help plotting line graphs

Hi all, I've been up since 1am playing with Jonny's 182 fixing its cooling problem and I think I've managed it but after data logging it I'd like to see the raw data expressed as two lines on a single graph. Now I had assumed this *would* be simple enough task to perform in Excel but...

Anyone with a 172 in Sutton Coldfield?

Go see Fred at BTM and he'll sort you out. Failing that, pop to Nottingham and I'll take a look for you. I'd take you out in mine but it won't be much fun for you as there's only one seat (which is mine) and not much else in the name of interior lol

    Loss of all drive

He isn't the first to do it and I'm pretty sure he won't be the last either. I'm deffo considering investing in a PMS shifter now to upgrade the shift kit I have at present. In a 16 vs 4 it gets all Highlander... "There can only be one"
  30. MicKPM

    Loss of all drive

The gearboxes RPM climbs rapidly when this happens and drags the engines RPM sky high. This causes the cranks rotational speed to advance (and the top end cannot keep up) so a torsional effect tightens the bottom pulley bolt (it's a "stretch" fixing) which then can't apply the required load to...
