Blocking of the breather and venting the oil vapour it to atmosphere makes no difference in performance. The only time when it's worthwhile doing is if you have a higly tuned Turbo car so you don't get oil vapour going in at WOT and increasing the chances of det.

Sounds normal to me Normal 172 tramlines a fair bit and you go feel quite 'connected' to the road

Two totally different cars so hard to compare. I did want an S3 but realized how expensive they were for what you get...ended up in the 172. I think you'll find the 182 very flimsy compared to the Audi but then there's the handling/fun that makes up for it.

I personally think under 21s should be restricted to certain insurance groups. I suppose it's your choice..if owning a 172 is that important (which I'm sure it is at 18/19) then be prepared to be f**ked up the arse by the insurance companies....I'm afraid that's the way it works

Wise up and do your time behind the wheel of a shed like a lot of us have done. Paying over a grand on car insurance is a joke. That way you won't be bankrupt plus you'll have some driving experience to handle the POWER.

Front of engine? Sounds like the fuel rail guard IIRC it's connnected by a couple of 8/10mm bolts which you can get to with a socket set extension etc

Insurance will probably be the main problem but if you avoid the cup it may not be too bad.

Still running conti sports on my 172 and am pretty happy with them

You'll need to get some new liner plugs as they get fooked when you wrench them off with long nose pliers.

Gutted Could be worse though...damage to the actual metal bodywork is pretty minimal.

Don't think I've ever seen one out and about
