A lot of the Passats around the 4-5k mark will have 90, 100k plus on as many will be fleet cars....aren't VW supposed to be reliable though?

Would love an R26 but not an option If the Clio goes I'll be downgrading to a average saloon (Mondeo, Passat) so I don't have to do finance etc. Thing I'm worried about with that is you could end up getting a car which will end up costing me money to sort out anyway.

Got my 5 year service coming up next month and I rung Rentech yesterday for a quote on it. They said they could do the belts & tensioners etc plus a service (oil, pollen filter etc) for around £550. This is reasonable and the work will be done properly of course but I just can't help...

I wouldn't go for Magnex myself...from experience I can tell you that my old one wasn't too good.....looked chav, heavy and didn't fit well.

Looks like a tidy example and with good mileage. I'd go for 6k after you've done the cambelt change etc

No....don't do it unless you have serious amounts of time on your hands to cloean it and remove scratches etc. I've owned a couple of blck cars....lovely when clean/waxed but shows every scuff & piece of dirt.

What about the diesel Cupras (150bhp ones), I've heard froma reliable source that they are bloody quick/nice to drive.

Definately wasn't trying or was running the engine in. RX7 would destroy 172/182 quite easliy.

Not that fast anyway....power delivery is pretty linear and easy to control unlike some old turbo cars.

Figures on paper and 0-60 drag times mean jack s**t The Clio has got to be a better all rounder for 'driver satisfaction' plus you wouldn't feel a nob driving one:D

As above...personal preference really, probably b**ger all in it performance wise. I do prefer the MK2 myself hence why I brought one and not the Mk1

I realy like valvers when they are in an original state (wheels and all) As Lewis said earlier....I think there are a lot of scrotes doing up 'base models' to look like valvers:(

Got one on mine and it is pretty loud when booting it

I think the feedback/handling is what makes the Cliosports such a fun car to drive....not outright speed.

I really love the xenons of the ff car....don't use the AC that much as I'm too much of a tightwad lol

I do very little miles Brought my 2002 full fat 172 2 years ago with 13k on the clock and have just got 21k on the clock recently. I ride my bike a lot to work which does help keep the miles off the car

Seen those before My Mk1 stealth looks nothing like that...must have had a 'bad day a the office' when they made that one lol
