It's a good point; I've seen it suggested before as useful for tidying up alloys, and it was convenient to just grab some from Halfords. I think it's Tar and Grime or something along those lines... I'd expect it to do something even if minimal.
They're not the standard Clio alloys though, they're Ultralaggeras, there are loads of nooks and crannies - If I can pay a tenner for some chemical to make the job take half the time, then I'd rather do that.
The refurb will probably be a DIY job, because all the quotes I've had are ridiculous, and that place in Brum is too far for me.
Will Wonder Wheels do the business? Given that AG Tar Remover barely left a scratch, I thought I might be needing something with industrial strength; just how strong...
I've got some wheels caked in brake dust, I've tried using AG Tar Remover on them which did nothing.
Any suggestions on something to get it off that is really strong? Don't mind if it affects paint, the wheels will be getting a refurb once they're cleaned up anyway.
Pretty much everything you've noted is the status quo on these cars opinion wise - I'm in complete agreement with you on the negatives, currently trying to sort the seating position and audio. As for the gear change, people rate the short-shifter mods, but I've read some comments about reducing...
It would probably sell a lot easier if you did put the 6 months tax on it and then price is accordingly - stick another £100 quid on the asking price and take the £30 hit, worth it if you want it gone.
Can anyone recommend a good place to get a set refurbished in Dorset/Hampshire?
I got a quote from The Wheel Specialist in Ferndown and it came to £312, which is about 4 times the price I was expecting - I know that place in Brum do a set for £80, so where does £312 come from?
Thanks, Jack.

He has spoken about trying to sell it towards the end of the thread, think he wants about 10k for it.
It's more reactive through comparison sites though as far as I'm aware, when I spoke to Neil@Greenlight he said the job title specifics didn't make much difference as long as you're not in certain high risk professions.
I'd just pick up a full second hand system through here.
If you pay to have tips put on the standard exhaust, the exhaust will rust and die, then you'll have a rusty exhaust with nice tips.
A decent exhaust will help you with resale too should you come to sell it - I personally would avoid...
That's actually brilliant advice, thank you very much! I did see that they were offering "Associate" level quals. Do you think the fact that I'm not currently involved technically will hinder me? I have access to vSphere Client and vCloud etc so I can see a lot of the things without executing...
I explained my situation a little further up, basically my reason for taking the certs would be to convince my current company to let me get more involved in the technical side, by showing my interest in it and dedication to it off my own back. In the case of the VCP exam, it's just too...
Do you guys work with VMWare stuff? I was wondering about taking certs that aren't necessarily completely applicable to what you do; there seems to be a lot of differing opinions on whether certs are worth it, and how it looks when you get them without the subject area being what you do every...
Should've kept the Recaro's from the one you sold, unless they smelt too? Guess you didn't expect to get another RS so soon too...
Looks great though, brilliant paintwork and excellent interior; wish my glovebox aligned that well, the gap on the right side is about twice the gap on the left side.
When people are looking for parts, I often see pictures posted by those who have access to Renault parts or whatever (MarcR usually I think) that show every part with black outlines, pulled apart so you can see all the individual parts. That's a really naff explanation but I can't think how...
