Always sad seeing a good car go.
Good luck with the Golf...that scene seems to be thriving so there's bound to be some real nice ones about.
Make sure you don't change your mind and end up in a Focus ST though:D
According to evo mag they thought the Trophy was the hot hatch benchmark of all time...never driven one though so don't know how it compares to say a 205gti which I have owned in the past.
That's the fronts mate....check the drainage holes in the spring cups
Also worth checking it the top mounts....prone to cracking and bearing failure...mine went on both sides in my old Renault but it had done quite a lot of miles.
All I can say is I had a K&N IK in my old 19 16v with cold air feed and it made the engine flat as anything...think it must of lost a the car some torque.
Aren't the OE calipers Bendix, Girling or Lucas ones which are used on lots of different car applications?...would of thought they would be easy to get hold of.
Quite an old trick....when I used to own my Renault 19 16v people on forus used to smash the internals/cells out of the cat with a broomhandle...nice and cheap but a bit crude!
Why does it look better...is it because there are a couple of peashooters on show at the rear and some plastic trim added?
Surely that stuff adds weight
