Have to agree with you Jim....I wouldn't risk changing the belt myself and if you get it done at a garage you do have some comeback if things go tits up.
I would change it going by the manufacturers reccomendations as even though the milage is low belts perish/weaken with time.
Not sure about the price but TBH it worth doing if you don't want the espense and hassle of a rebuild/engine change it it does break.
Crickey...that does stick out a fair bit.
Before you go hacking it up I would contact the manufacturers of the exhaust and explain to them why you're not happy with it etc and they may be able to help.
Failing that you could take the car to a place that does custom exhausts and thay could...
I don't se the f**king logic in the taxing system..surely it should be done on petrol or how much you actually use the roads.
I drive my 172 once, twice a week and cycle to work so how come if it's all about the environment I pay the same in tax as someone in a guzzler commuting to work...
Would the Eibach pros be okay on standard dampers?
Glad to hear your going for the subtle look Ollie..matter of taste but I'm definately keeping mine looking standard as I'm not keen on the modified look.
Lovely car, quick and more importantly, rare.
I think I've only seen two or three on pubilc roads over the years:D
I can understand the insurance thing but that does help keep scrotes out of them to a certain extent.
Absolutely...if you weren't informed of the ecu being mapped then you as a buyer wouldn't know unless you had driven lots of 172s/182s before and could notice the difference driving it but even then you could claim ignorance.
Any good panel will be an improvement over the standard (K&N, Green, ITG). I've got a Green in my 172 and am pretty happy with it...cheap too at around £30.
I'm running a K-tec Stealth and am very happy with the way it looks and the sound....also as the doc says, no issues with cutting bumpers...
Really love the look of the V6 and I'm sure the drive is great but no room for bikes in the back:(
They do also sound expensive to run from what people have said on here
Interested to know how long the discs are supposed to last too...my discs have a slight lip on but how large does this lip have to be before they need changing?
