Definately get on the Highways Agency/Councils back to get your money back.....we pay for the 'priveledge' to drive on UK roads so expect them NOT to be dangerous.
This makes me realy f**king angry
We pay ludicrous amounts of car tax to drive on roads which are in either in s**t condition or littered with debris that could potentialy cause a fatal accident.
Glad it wasn't worse though.
I bet your exhaust is knocking on the metal bracket which holds the exhaust rubber mount.
I've got a Stealth and it did exactly that.....fixed it by removing the bracket and filing the mounting holes out further so I could slide it further away from the bracket on the backbox itself.
Bit of...
Mitsi and Subaru owners believe in their brand too mate.....I am still supporting a Subaru club and they are decent people who are passionate about their cars.....not spotty a**holes who abuse motors and do donuts in the local Maccy Ds
I do feel these Jap cars are a victim of their own success...
Not sure about the clolour of the Clio but it's what I would have.
I often drive my moms Mini Cooper and it's a nice car...well built etc but you can definately feel the weight when your driving it.
If you follow the OE intake pipe down past all the headlight stuff you'll find the valve...it's opened/closed by the vacumn tube which goes into the inlet next to the throttle body.
I believe this valve opens/closes depending on engine speed to reduce noise and improve torque......if you going...
Welcome to the forum
I've had my 172 for around 3 months now and I'm very happy with it....looks good, goes well and is cheap to insure...oh yeah, petrol consumption is good too!
I wouldn't worry about build quailty....that's soon forgotten about when your driving it:D
IIRC you can remove the original air feeds and the valve which is bolted onto the chassis below the headlamp by taking the wheel arch liner out.
Also, you have to disconnect the vacumn pipe from the inlet and block it off.
Probably not much in it in terms of real world driving.
I went for a 172 (non cup) as I liked the abs, aircon and toys....plus I don't like the WRC style blue cups come in.
Just a matter of preference really
The Renault won't be as well built as the Audi but will be more fun to drive. I owned a 270bhp WRX before my 172 and it's definately more engaging behind the wheel that the Scoob was.
I think the test drive should make your mind up:D
I had a D reg 1.9 GTI in Graphite grey with a factory fitted, full Dimma kit.
Was a nice car at the time but definately wouldn't want to own one now...I think car technology has moved on quite a bit since then.
In saying that though it's still a 'benchmark' car which handles well:D
It's got the flanges missing though Sean:(
I think teh best deal I have found for a decent sports cat is from Demon Tweeks.....they do Janspeed 172 sports cats for a tad under 300 notes.
