Sorry to hear this news....I had some trouble with a member on another forum regarding parts & money but I'd never met the guy.
Hope you can track him down
Unlucky but it happens to us all sometime or another.
I would check your tyre very carefully as damaging the casing/sidewalls can create this droning noise you mentioned.
Fair point....we are all allowed to spend our hard earned cash on what we like.
I'm an old kunt though which now gives me the right to gloat and be a bas**rd towards the younger generation (laughter)
I wouldn't waste money.....just 'do your time' in lower powered cars until your older then you'll be able to run your car without being skint all the time:D
Revving the hell out of a car from cold is definately not good...if you go to look at any cars and they do that I'd just walk away.....plenty of other good cars out there.
Very nice....got one on my Mk2 172 and it sounds good.
Janspeed sports cat arrived yesterday so may fit that this weekend if I can be arsed.
Hope all goes well with the fitting...keep an eye on the rear box hangar as it can get pretty close/knock on the OE bracket.
Doesn't matter what car you do the belt on....the principle is still the same and the consequences if you get it wrong are the same.
I personally would let a decent dealer/garage do it so they have the responsibility if it does f**k up as the work is guaranteed.
Don't think it's an engine out job but I believe you have to support the engine whist you remove the mount at the top so you can get access to the belt.....still going to be a squeeze though.
That sounds like a good deal to me for the power gains.
Fitting a sports cat next week so may have to get this done next.
Does the car have to be mapped on a RR after fitting the inlet or can the car be run with the ecu in OE form?
