they're not available as a service exchange part. Most other fitments are reconditioned by renault, Cup shafts are the only ones that aren't now I think
lol, not really, it's a 7 inch for a start. I don't want to and can't be without a laptop which a higher end tablet would have to replace on cost grounds. This is just something to play with really
Screen is amazing (seriously it's crystal clear and very quick), and it's well put together. I'm waiting for a really good ROM to be released as there's a few small glitches, but nothing to put me off. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to mess around with rooting and flashing ROMs
I think it'll be a very small blow from the decat to center section join. I only ever use genuine clamps on these now and it makes a load of difference to how well they seal. Also use a smear of silicon sealer (NOT exhaust paste)
FYI, I'd charge 2 hours labour to replace the alternator and full aux kit. wheel and headlight don't need touching, just bumper and slam panel off then raise the engine enough on a jack (carefully, sumps can crack so spread the load with a block of wood, and jack on thestrongerst part and not in...
It's not revs that are killing valves in my opinion/experience, it's valve bounce caused by being too rev limiter happy. Everyone I've seen have it happen to has had an intimate relationship with their rev limiter
I've done quite a lot of remaps recently to take the pops and bangs off. They're never very subtle IMO. I quite like a little something going on, but only when i provoke it to happen
It's easy to do, Andy's got it down to a pretty fine art of putting in a bit of a crackle rather than having a full on artillery going off. Just ask for what you want doing
it's not an EPROM, it's embeded data. What you're saying would work on a mk1 ECU, although it would be easier to run a 27c512 chip, run a double layer map, and fit a switch to earth to one pin (can't remember which it is without looking it up)
they're roughly £80 each for genuine, yes cup packed are different, and yes they need to be replaced in pairs.
You'd honestly be better off replacing the whole set with some subtle lowering springs
I had one in for brakes a little while ago, stupid electric handbrake..... had to leave it running just to get it in the right place to put on the ramp. Insanely big car!
