Hi everyone,
Im going to fit this setup over the next few days now I have finally got a straight rack!
Just a few things to check;
Using an 8 gauge wiring kit from my car audio days for the power - its good quality vibe stuff - is this 'beefy' enough?
Where can I take a switched feed for the...
Thanks, sorry - I am using 25mm2 cable through a longacre connector and 175amp is to put a terminal on the standard wiring in the engine bay so I can connect it to a distribution block with the other cable from the fusebox.
Hi,
Relocating the battery to the boot and want to do away with the big fuse near the battery in the standard setup.
The battery will be megafused so no worries there.
Does anyone know the gauge of the cable this is attached to, or the easiest way to find out? I only have 10mm terminals so...
Does everyone just use QD in between washes? I always thought that would just drag the dirt around and really you should do a proper wash?
Maintanence in between washes is something I struggle with, I generally pre-wash and jetwash every week, proper wash alternate weeks.

Unboxed last night and was impressed with the quality - really nicely put together. The camera sphere is in 2 halves and unscrews to fit the micro SD card.
Downloaded the apps and really...
Ive just ordered a Foscam Ip dome camera. Was about 60 quid, has POE and a micro SD slot, both of which are important for me. Pick it up today and will let you know how it is!
Im trying to install Jarvis on a fresh stick, im at the download page in ES Explorer, but when I click on the 'ARM' link, nothing happens? Exe files etc. All seem to work but obviously arent the right ones.
Be careful with strong wheel cleaners and powdercoat, I stupidly ruined 2 sets of powdercoated wheels, one with ag wheel cleaner, the other with clean wheels. It dulled the finish and caused spiderline cracks all over the surface.
Am I right in thinking that we are only limited to second hand shafts now as Reno have stopped making/refurbing?
And the 3rd party ones dont fit perfectly?
Dont do it.
Ive read tonnes of 'epic' rebuild threads where they never get finished or life gets in the way etc.
I said to myself I would fix/upgrade if broken, otherwise, just drive it.
That was over 6 months ago and the cars been on stands ever since, subframe/steering rack/engine...
Hi @percy555 not yet, I have a few warranty bits to sort first.
Uconnect headunit occasionally crashes, but I cant pinpoint why - its completely at random.
Rear drivers door doesnt 'catch' unless you slam it shut
Small rattle/knock/clunk on gear change at low speed
Hoping the above are all...
Ktec stealth with the centre silencer (important!), is common. Pure motorsport do a stealth one in various db ratings as well. A lot of 172 exhausts have tailpipes under the bumper which may not be your thing
Hi all,
Does anyone have any pics of the mounts of the DCI rack? I picked up a refurbed one but looking at it 'square' the mounts dont seem to be flat, one is at a different angle to the other if that makes sense. I have attached a pic to show what I mean.
If the rack is mis-aligned, any tips...
Red leather looks great!
Just FYI, if you clay/decontaminate, that will strip all the protection (if any!) on the car, so depending on how long you leave it you should do it again next time, and just whack some aqua wax on after shampooing if you havent got time to do the full works.
How can I tell if an LSP has solvents? I want to use Prima Amigo as a glaze, but EGP on top - will this strip the glaze?
Also, whats bests to go under a glaze if applied by hand? Im assuming SRP is pointless, I was thinking something like a cleanser or ultimate compound?
I just went for it to be honest, 3 year warranty inc. breakdown, and an allowance covering the monthly cost + a decent amount of running costs! Nothing else like them in the work car park (Jettas, A3s, Passats...).
Ordered a 'Wizard' backbox - 100mm slash cut inward rolled straight through...
Wow, close call!
Ive got a real soft spot for 206s, think they are underrated compared to the 205/106/306, not sure if thats warranted though!
Good luck with the rebuild.
Thanks for the comments!
Well this was ~£23k list, and I got it for ~£16k, with a £2.5k deposit contribution, so was hands down the cheapest out of the crop of cars I was looking into!
It is full finance to own the car at the end, as the Missus wants it afterwards.
Planning to fit an...
Cheers all :)
The facelift (2014 on i believe) is big step up in interior quality and kit, id say it is as good as the a3 i had before it.
Reliability wise, its fairly late in the models life, plus a facelift, so reliability wise they are as good as anything else. I went for petrol so no dpf...
Hi all,
Thought I would post some pics of my recently aquired G! Using this everyday and have a 172 project.
Opted out of the CC scheme at work and took the allowance, and am now saving circa £100 a month, which is nice.
It is a 1.4tb in cobalto blue metallic with rear parking sensors, rear...
