Im going to be running a Lumenition C460, i finished the loom on the ecu side earluier, just need to go and install it tomorrow, and then order the leads to try and map the damned thing.
well im using a 1.4 gearbox, yes the speedo drive just pulls out and the valver one just slots in. I havent looked at the 172 mounting, so cant comment, all i know is they're different on the box side.
Ive used the 172 clucth braket/fork set up on the 1.4 box and it fits nicely.
Nah i didnt want to keep it, but got it decoded, then found i would need a emulator, so wiried in the uch and decoder etc, then found that the decode did work, but the ecu is goosed somewhere.
FFS.
So, standalone managment it is. but its going to be a while before the car is ready. as im...
The 1.2 engine does move loads. even from new. crap i know. iirc the 172 dog bone mount is the same size and dimension, but stiffer, so will stop this.
Also, you shouldnt hold the gearstick whilst driving, fubars the gearbox.
ish, the mount on the meggy JC5 is different to the valver/willy, but as is the pseedo drive but thats only a case of changing the drive/sensor.
The 172 box has the same proiblems, the top mount is different.
Oh, sorry and possibly remove a coolant hose if it gets in the way!!
Just leave the subframe hanging there, the most imoprtant thing to support is the engine.
Its not an engine out job,
Lower the pass side of the subframe, remove pass d/s, undo ball joints, remove drivers d/s, remove lower gearbox mount, then the top one, then all the box bolts inc starter and slide out, then out through the top.
I run non gen cables and they're fine.
How is the cable routed?
It needs to:
Out the bulk head, down, along towards the passenger side, push it back through the gap between the subframe and the bulkhead, then back out along the chassis rail, underneath the top gearbox mount, then into the...
Right, this f**king 172 conversion is doing my nut now, im going bald :(
The ecu arrived today(thanks paul!) plugged it in, and nothing, so a phone call to paul, and he suggested plugging in the uch etc and running it as if it had an immobiliser, i also put an LED in where the immo led would...
