they do come out easily, oinless the engine has been changed and the bolt been put in the wrong way round.
Im running a mk1 172 rear mount does the job alot better than the standard valver.
changine the loom is easy as im sure you know, tbh, its the quicker option to change the loom rather than start stripping the loom down to find the break!
So the injectors are getting power, whats the resistance on them? pull the injectors out the head and see if they are firing. if they're not, try a different set of injectors.
Or, buy a different loom, hook that up.
I posted a pic a while back, i'll try and find it. its on a 172, but the position is the same.
Its on the top of the bellhousing, right beside the engine.
I straightened one of mine, again hit a pot hole and it bent the lip slightly. didnt let the tyre down though. stuck it on the balencer at work and just watched to see where it was bent! then used the hide end of a copper hammer to beat it back into shape, got it so that it was perfectly...
