put it this way, i bought my 172 2 years ago for £7200 (was very high price even at that time) but worth it due to low millage and warranty etc. then i paid £2500 3rd party to insure it at 18. never looked back since, i love it, best car ive ever owned, i can now afford to insure much faster...
ive owned both and can tell you dci 65 is quicker than a 1.2 16v
mega cheap tax @ £35 a year
60mpg+
loads more torque than a 1.2 makes it bareable around town, i cant stand 1.2s i feel i need to be in 2nd gear everywhere to get anywhere.
na no 4 pots or coilovers yet i ran short of cash when i bumped dci in the snow so im running a bit behind on my plans lol was hoping to get the k-tec ITB kit for it but may have to wait to next year, or may just leave it as it is dunno yet
some had them funny enough, not sure why, dont know if it was an option or if its only certain engine configs usually 1.4's or dci expressions i see with fogs but they did make some!
well we just got this running, insured and taxed tonight and got it out a quick blast, its got a blue cup spoiler and back and white rear bumper on it so didnt want to take it to far looking like a tit, but its going into the bodyshop this week for paint! but anyway.... all i can say is what a...
lol wish my mum had a car like that, mine thinks mine is "FAR TOO FAST" and shes only drove it to the shop and back not getting above quarter throttle, 25mph or 2k rpm haha
need a few prices for the following to save me phoning up in the morning.
car is a 2003 Clio 172, need a price for....
OS front arch liner
NS front arch liner
engine under tray
nice upgrade mate i like them.
mpg seems like a bonus to start with and so impressive but then you realise you can afford to drive flat out everywhere so you do it lol or maby thats just me!
my dci averages about 45mpg these days because its flat out everywhere lol
if its only drops splashing your filter i cant see it causing any problem but as said watch for puddles, water cant be compressed like air and fuel so if your engine sucks it in it'll bend the rods or shoot the crank out the side of the engine!
drop subframe (no need to remove), drain box oil, remove NS shaft, remove gearbox, change clutch, refit gearbox, refit shaft, refill oil, subframe back on
thats very narow minded imo, where i agree theres nothing wrong with standard springs i do beleive there is improvement to be had if springs are selected properly and tracking and alignment properly setup afterwords
mine was imaculate inside, resonable/very clean outside, dynamique dci 65, no service history, 10 months mot, no tax, £1700 i paid
you can always use tax as a bargaining point as a lot of people dont know they only cost £35 a year to tax! as the guy i got mine from didnt

funny thing is the fact that YOU dont own a Clio Sport but he does.
a Clio Dynamique is from the "sport range"
a 2.0 Clio cup is from the "RenaultSport range"
engines i think loosen up quite well with miles, ive been very impressed with the performance of my dci 65 mk2 dynamique (which is obviously a bit lighter)
my mums got a mk3 but a 1.2 petrol and ive found it to handle brilliant and find it quite hard to make it understeer! and its just got the...
im assuming you mean a 100bhp gain and not actually 100bhp?!
no need for new brakes and suspension unless you want to. you could turbo it for cheap, there was a K4M turbo cutting about in europe somewhere running a tad over 200bhp from memory
