lots of people say standard (with for example ITG panel). Me too ;)
My car had an open one on there (took it off after one week) , seemed to loose torque a bit and throttleresponse was less. Fuelconsumption was worse.
Sound was Bombastic
i know the oval your talking about.. On the RS the intake is round BUT the cafs (2 of them) also connect oval into the airbox..
might be worth looking at those CAF-connectors as they go round-to-oval :approve:
go to the junkyard see if a 172 is there (make 2) and rip out the feeds
exactly.. what works for race cars cannot be compared to/for roadcar usage
Clio's and silly speeds do'nt go together.
When i still had my Saxo, i did the caf change to foglight because i was desperately trying to make my expensive Viper-superduperairintake work... nothing happened
In a...
have you tried this one yet !? Seems like your only interested in spending a lot of cash ?
it's the cheapest option of everything mentioned in this thread
i know i'll be trying this one when i'll be fitting my new coilies
bit of physics, could be wrong here ;
i think when there is turbulance in the air coming in, it might be less dense because of a larger amount of particals moving around very quickly; hence turbulance but when you've got a steady/constant airflow it will be more dense ; more particals...
these cars like constant airflow, forcing air in there is'nt going to help
I was also thinking of placing one in foglight but dirt+water got me worrying. Eventually people with more technical background told me about the airflow being best when it comes from a place where it's constant...
Re: 50% complete 172RWD!
last evening started reading this thread front to back, ended up past my bedtime :o , first thing in the morning logged in again to see if i missed anything....
 very cool project !
i'm jealous ; all i ever did was chop up my 80cc mopeds... long long time ago
i,ve had the same experience when fitting an open filter, the idea of getting more air in there.. lost torque, fuel milage is worse, sluggish like you say on throttle.
I've contacted Fastchip about the thought of a custom map to fit our idea of more/larger air-intake. He said it would always...
After 2 days and 60 km-ish driving i found that this carbon thingy is making my car guzzle down a lot of fuel too :(
Think i'll hurry with the phase 1 airbox....
maybe first lambda sensor.... when busted the engine goes in an "emergency run" and will not let you go the way your 182 is supposed to go ;)
Not sure as i'm no expert, when you get it hooked up to a computer at the stealers they should be able to tell sensor -problems. This reading out...
sorry, stated that wrong there ;
i think you'll need a CUSTOM map for it to ever provide a benefit
One thing was good about this try-out ; i found out that i only had 1 airfeed going to the original airbox so i had to repair/replace that anyway !
As was shown in another related thread, i knew i had one laying around as i bought the car with one. i was surprised to see that they cost so much !
when i bought the car i took it off straight away, do'nt like the sound, and went for original with ITG panel. (was also advised by my mechanic)...
even the H&R set up still gives some roll on the back of the car, i've read of some people being dissapointed how soft the back is..
oh well , the German techs who put them together know what they're doing ; It's probably roll or FLIP
but yeh, you'll need more than just the springs...
check the site mentioned above first , you must be talking about their cheapest plastic toy thingy here m8
Mine's the CARBON one and can NOT be bought at that price
...the one you're talking about are to be had even cheaper then a hundred
is this cam dephaser fault only to be recognised at idle ?
Mine does'nt tick but does make irregular noise at idle.
Runs like a train though....
The dealer says it's normal :quiet:
Driving a Reno keeps you on your toes does'nt it pfffff
just bought a suzuki Alto, want to get the Cup in a garage and save on fuel..
First the seats are going to be changed for some 15pound Sparcos' , back seat is coming out, H&R's have arrived :D
hope this deal with the Alto works for me to save up for this final mod
.... may have forgotten to say; i was going to mount hem myself, then drive around for 2 somethng days after which i was going to bring it to the pro's for proper allignement/tracking/camber settings
now i'm doubting to do the mounting because of lack o instructions
what should i do ?
they've just arrived.
without ANY sort of fitting instruction though... they do say that it should be fitted by professionals due to warranty/safety issues, OFCOURSE
so they're thinking the pro's wo'nt have any problems cause they should know what they're doing hmm
might just throw the...
