    6.5 inch rims..

6.5 inch wheels are a little narrow for a 172? I'd go with 7" at least

Best items to use to clean up engine bay

Polishing the inlet manifold has no effect on the health of the car. But if your doing it by hand it will take you a while. So far I've been going at it for 18 months, with varying levels of enthusiasm.

clio 172 cup which has a motorhome attachment....

Starting price £2600, for a Cat C 172 cup?! Dreaming.

    Jerky steering

No. I did read. It's prefectly normal for the steering wheel to return to the centre, after turning it to full lock.

    Jerky steering

Yes? The steering wheel doesn't normally stay put once you've turned it

This is a fact I'm well aware of. 3 months worth of pay cheques, and I should have my car in a better place.

Gaz and yes. By setup I assume you mean alignment. So yes. If Fred worked for free, I'd love to have him in my life. Unfortunately I needs to pay for many things right now. However.... I will be asking him about a price for a yozza, fitted, at some point in the next couple of weeks.

    ride quality on 17's

the wheel size is irrelevant really, low tyre profile will cause a rough ride. Normally anything less then a 45 profile will give a slightly harsher ride.

    182 cup coilies

    Everything.

    182 cup coilies

Nope. Having been down that road and done it, I'm on the look out for a change. Everyone raves on about stiff coilovers and good handling, when in reality stiff coilovers means you can't drive over uneven roads at any kind of speed. I hate my car right now, if you hadn't guessed.

    182 cup coilies

Unless your spending stupid money, you aren't going to get anything better on B roads, than standard dampers and eibach springs.

    Newbie from Exeter Area!

I wouldn't even put 17" wheels on a clio. Far too big, expensive tyres, look s**t.
  22. D

    Newbie from Exeter Area!

Well the car you've got is a 172 cup, "lighter" than the normal 172. Doesn't have ABS, xenon headlights or leather seats. Do not put 18" wheels on it.

You're not a million miles away from Streamline Carbon, I'd have a word with them, as they can repair carbon and do all sorts of magic with it.
