yea new pads from halfords are only a couple quid.....just change them.

pad material could possibly of come off the backing plate. It would mean large gap beween piston and disc, thus the pumping, and the grinding noise is metal on metal. It could be as simple as changing the pad which takes 10 mins.

it would last fine, its not overly stressed. but its not sooper dooper reliable....dont go mixing me up.

Big items like gearboxes, engines, looms etc etc you have to ask the facotry how much they will subsidise you. THey cant just keep slapping stuff on. Little things like sensors aint a problem, its the first thing we swap on our cars, TDC sensors are replaced almost all the time!
