it isn't the spring that stops them from closing, the spring pulls the spindle to one side and wears the body/butterfly. with it not sitting central in it's 'returned' state the butterfly is still slightly open.
on the car so far we've had
nankang NS2, not a bad tyre, ok in the dry and wet but not amazing when you start to push it in the wet.
nankang NS20, SHITE!! would struggle to keep traction pulling off in a straight line in the wet!! bit iffy cornering when pushing it in the dry, not awful but...
well after some pleb...:innocent:...taking camber bolts out of the wife's car, forgetting to do the tracking and her then doing 2,500 miles inside edge of her v12's have scrubbed off!!!!

nah, as long as you get a good 5 litres in and it's on the max nothing to worry about. i fill them until comes out the bleed hole, then top up to maximum in the header and then burp it with top and bottom rad hose, generally drops to the min or near as, then fill back up.
run to temp and check...
