LOL....
only slightly clearer.....but what do you mean by could have got a cossie focus on the MK1".....LOL
do you mean use the aincient YB engine?
The escort cossie wasnt desinged for 4wd, they used the old sierra base......
well, the 172 is a bit slow now.......:D
i love it how everybody things everything is crap bar the 172......its a good car, but could do with another 20bhp......
fiat bravo turbo diesel?!!
LOL....
yes, to make good power they need an intercooler, but thats not the discussion.
no need to tell us turbo basics either........
indeed, the boxster is underpowered.....but tis intended....if they come out with a stonker straight away they wouldnt keep interest in the design.
By steadily increasing power.....it stays young....marketers eh!
But i has got a GREAT chassis.
In the RSs state, the turbo is very low pressure, and it gives more of a torque increase than peak power. Cosworth dont have to spend so much money developing a good cylinder head design and dont have to run lumpy cams.
Machining costs are lower since you dont ahve to faff about becuase you...
well the pour point diff between 15w50 and 5w30 mobil 1 is only 10 deg F......made a mistake, 15w is -55F
15w has a better VI and thus rate of change, is of a heavier base, less VI improovers although the improovers used in synth arent aywhere near as bad as the ones in mineral...
yup, but indicates that its STILL MOVING at that temp!!! and thats frikking cold!
Problem is Brun, you get far too excitied over oil and tend to use the newest fanciest "off brand" u can get. 5w is the stuff that super tight tolerance modern cars run on, our cars just dont need it at all! use...
PMed you back mate.
you wont be able to get much power from it, possibly 100 - 110 with lots of expensive work. And since that engine has not featured in any tuning circles, nor probably never been worked with to make serious power parts will not be available as manufacturer only build parts...
ergh, 10w40 is a very very old grade.......
especially in mineral or semi synth form its basically crap. It has alot of polymers in it which can lead to rapid deposit build up and is not the best one to choose.
15w50 mobil 1 is good stuff.
If you want, you can run a 15w40 mineral then ad a...
ah, the engines stll fine as long as its had regular oil changes anyway.
milage isnt high.
Just go fully synth, its all settled anyway.
Dont worry too much about it, it can get all complicated and technical, but it doesnt need too. i like my 15w50s but someone will invariably reccomend...
lots of short trips where the egine doesnt get fully hot can lead to deposit formation which is what damages the engine. Acids can also form which corrode internal surfaces. Gettig it HOT is whats needed.......if thats done, then you wont have any problems with.
Ragging it from cold...
sh*t mate......
best of luck with repairing/renewing......
frikkin asswholes, the mroe i think of it, the more i think englands nxt generation is goin to ruin this country.......
LOL!!!!
Now, the fat that my dad ru porshe doent make me bias my decision in the least, if its good, its good....bad iand i will say it is.
But, unimmaginative? hmm........a revolution in chassis layout, aerodynamics and engine/gearbox design.....hardly. And since its been around for about...
TO be honest, and not to make anybody with a V6 (sorry Dash) feel like their car is poor, cause it isnt.
The MK1 V6 is not the car its made out to be. We have 14 in HK and i regualrly do the after work tests on them. They are actualy very capable motorway cars with the tallish gearing....and...
