Cool idea! I was hoping to deflate my tyres and try that at the same time as it was bouncing down with rain!!! :rasp:
I did think at one point if it was a brake pad. Especially as braking did make it stop - if only temporarily. It's more annoying than anything...

Sneeks - you maybe struggling a little bit there, m8. At a guess, 4-year-old might PC may put it into the x4 AGP category which was dominated by the GeForce Ti4600 and others in their day. The later x8 AGP cards like the 9800 Pro were considerably better.
There's no harm done, getting a faster...
That's my plan exactly. Assuming of course that DX10 cards don't offer some mad 500% increase in performance or something... ;)
Lee - I ran 3DMark on mine over the weekend. Got just shy of 6,000 marks without any optimisation or tweaking. I'll try the older 3DMark2003 and see what I get with...
I've noticed a small squeak-type noise earlier, but noticed it more yesterday on the run back from Donington. It sounds like those knackered taxis when they apply the brakes and have that high-pitched squeak noise. The symptoms are:-
Only ever happens when the car is coasting along. If I brake...
Roy - there's some good pricing on the socket 940 stuff now. I picked up an AM2 X2 4800+ CPU for around £175+VAT and the M2N32-SLi Asus mobo was only around £105+VAT. Like wozzaa says, the socket 939 kit doesn't support DDR-2, so socket 940 really is the way to go - if you're spending cash now...
We were both there in the 182 and the Vee today, but ended up parking in the old fart's farmer's market section next to the main car park! :o
Didn't see any other RS cars today there....?

Alan, sorry - I've just noticed this now! Yes, it is, for the most part, thanks. Not 100% perfect, but massively better than what was left after the initial claying. It still needs a full blown PC session to get it looking totally decent....

On the top road between Bury and Rochdale. Almost at the Ashworth Valley Road turn-off. I didn't catch the reg as the lads in the car were going a tad fast and the sun was in my vision. Still had time to flash you though. At a rough guess, around 7pm?
A definite after-market zorst on there...
Bunzee - you haven't said what you really what it for, m8? I agree with NySwitch - Rock laptops are great - slightly pricey, but they've got a decent spec. Only used a Dell laptop once and that was a good few years ago, so I can't really judge on them these days.
We use a mixture of Toshiba...
No probs - good 'ol MD updated their price list today..... in stock too.

I stuck 5w 50 fully synth in mine this time around. The worrying thing for me was that the magnet on the sump bolt had worked loose. Probably highly unlikely that the magnet would have been sucked up into the rest of the engine, but you never know. Replaced the entire plug and washer now though...
Third time now with the car on 18,600 miles. The first around the 6k mark I did, followed by the 2nd oil change by Reno on it's 12k service.
Probably getting a bit obsessive on this methinks. Still, it can't do the engine any harm!

Anyone know where to get one of these from at the minute? They seem the preverbial RHS to get hold of.
Ideally, I'm after a place where I can source the case, mobo, gfx card, memory, etc in one hit. :)

Standard 5 Tubbies look great anyway, but stealthfully modded ones like yours look even better. Everything about it looks right. Great colour, brilliant complementary alloys, etc. Just so nice to see one without picnic table spoilers and 1mm ride-heights.
Well done - I bet you're well chuffed...
Glad to hear that you found the claying good m8! I'm wary of it myself - mainly because I fecked up my initial use of it on half of the bonnet, so I've kept it way from my car since then.
AG stuff is ok, I've found, but I know that nothing can rescue the general crapiness of my car's...
Just downloaded this now and tried it. Very impressive. Of the two cars available in the demo, I found the Lambo easier to pilot. Seems the graphics have been overhauled - so much so that they appear smoother than either GTR or GTL and yet have more detail.
Nothing specific for X-Fi audio...
^^^^ - straight-cut teeth in the 'box making their noise heard? That's what I call detail! Have they made the turbo noise more audible? I thought it was a bit weak in GTR.
