i got the wizard solenoids too, but i now whish i had ordered frmo teh states from holley (NOS systems) or similar since they are far better quality and cheaper. The blue and red solenoids from wizzard tend to be a bit weak and the aluminium can strip pretty easy. Some satiless ones from the...
Blue, i think you are a bit mixed up. The device wont replace any air that would normally come in through the throttle body. But instead add a little swirl of air into the mainfold which they say aid mixture of fuel/air. However, i really dont think it can do this effectively since it works on...
oh well, what about any coluored door, john (night.icon) can get one (hopefully its still there) for 20 quid but its in white an i would eed to spray it..not that i mins, but it just coveres my garage in paint dust...
oh with the pads, the friction material actually fell off the backing plates....
fitting is surprisingly easy. I did it first go, although you may need to fabricare a micro switch adaptor plate or get one made. I also made a bracket to hold all the fuel pumps/solenoids on so that i can unbolt it and take it off in 2 mins. Safe for the insurance man!
all you need is one...
Avo evo kits are good, for the money....but not as good as they used to be. Their street kits are also ok. Koni/bilstein are obviously the best strut setups. But you can get good cheaper suspension. e.g monroe or gabriel.
Just set AAronc up with gabriel shocks and there non adj. but much...
SImon, have you got N20? its wicked aint it!
200NM: I would buy the parts seperatly as you will save money rather than buying a kit. Buy 2 solenoids, a micro switch, a toggle switch (used as arming swith) a T peice to tap the fuel line, Lots of nylon pipe (1.5mm-2mm) and to save money, use a...
i got a valver setup on my RT....and i use maxtorque plain group n discs. I have had standard (warped) halford(warped) EBC (warped) those gold plated toora thingys (warpe and were crap for 110 quid) and the maxtorque are the only ones not to warp...so thats why i like them, they rust pretty...
air intake as in the flexi black pipe? if it is, should it not have conme with this any way?
drill a hole in the front radiator shield, near the front grille. pop it in and put the exit about 2" away fromt eh filter. If you can be bothered, build a little head sheild....about the best you can...
Mate, any info on teh x-flow....as i was talking to nick stagg engineering about putting a lotus twin cam head on and what we came out with was far too complicated....having electric water pumps, cutting the bulkhead to fit the carbs and all. #
so i have decided on a MK1 escort with bubble...
i say this all the time..but ferodo DS2000 or mintex 1144 pads and i dont think you can get any group n discs for your car. so stick with either maxtorque or standard....and if you can afford it or want to spend that much, tarox...pagid are meant to be good too. but steer away from ECB, red dot...
rear shocks, i had the same. I had a set of gas ones and one bolt came out the left hand side rear shock. on the motorway. Meaning a 150 mile trip back on one shock.....it was too late for a garage to be open. ANyway, this knackered the right hand shock....and whe i put the left one back on, it...
direct port injection is when you have 4 injectors (one per cylinder) with one in each inlet port, rather just before it on the branch of the inlet manifold. Its drilled and tapped in there so that each piston racieves a much more accurate and even dose. A standard 1.4 engine will take ita the...
well, in my little fiesta, when i turnit on, it only equates to about 115bhp....so i do it in first as it feels great. And i showed aaronc, an i was surprised to say the least that i could stay in front of a 16V.....mega....minf you, the car is a fair bit lighter...being made of tin foil.....
mintex, EBC, and ferodo are what i have used....all on track days. I didnt rate EBC stuff at all....its cra, but either mintex or ferodo will do, as their the best, mintex is cheaper though.
Its really the pads that make the brakes, discs are not as important.
it wont ever release any power, just make it more reliable. ANd if your one grounding point is already coroded, then it will lessen the resistance, and help realease some of the stain when everythig is ON
freds almost there. " solenoids, one fuel one N20. The N20 is under pressure in the tank (around 900psi) so you dant need a pump. The fuel taps of the regular fuel line, but you need another pump for the solenoid. A solenoid is basically an electronic valve which opens when a switch is...
euro styling or something like that, i have his email but cant be bothered to go and fetch it right now. do you want it?
its a b*****d to fit though, engine out jobbie.
Well its rather basic really. you just find the valve area diameter squared x Pi, multiply by 8 cause there are 8 inlet valves in the engine. adjust for an extra 10% area because its a 16V motor (for an 8 V you would decrease the area, depending on whether it was parallel or inclined etc)
then...
so would i!!!
but saying that S B D have vauxhall 1.6 16V pumping out 246bhp....so if you can sort the VVt them it would be possible..itll be mostly work on the head and valves.
282bhp!!!!!!
this assums that there is no restriction to flow from inlet or exhaust system and valves stay the same size.
formula:
maxpower = 35 x 35 x 3.1416/4 x 8 = 7696.92 sqmm
max power = (valve adjustment) 7696.92 x 1.10 = 8466.612
maxpower = 8466.612/30 = 282
maxpower =...
