new rear pad overall thickness is 10.9mm (back plate is 5.1mm, so you have 5.8mm of material)

you don't have to support it, its easier if you don't, the engine won't go anywhere, you have to jack the gearbox up about 1inch when refitting the new mounting you don't jack the engine at all

don't support the gearbox, remove the 2x13mm nuts (catch the bolts from underneath as they fall out) then undo the large 18mm nut and hit the spike sticking up with a hammer gearbox will drop eventually, then jack it up and replace
