A wet journey on the way down to Kent this morning but the forecast was for a dry, sunny day. Tony and Helen had arrived before us and put up the gazebo just before it began to rain very hard. A small river was running through our pit area but we...
Not really. We were no where near them at brands. if we get it right we should be up with them again. Just realistic
Seems to be a lot of love for the Collins way of racing. We have been trying to stress this point for ages but now everyone can see for themselves. Speed is the most important...
Its made of paper. tops of the doors blow open at more than 100mph.
Fibre glass, doors, bonnet, boot lid. He keeps trying to save weight mid race but it doesnt go as well on three wheels ;)
Lol, Hi. Nice of you to post instead of just spying ;)
A very good post Ian. Hope others are reading it.
You will see us at Donny, hopefully right in your rear view mirror
Never used a non gen one so no idea what the quality is like. But thats because the genuine one isnt that expensive. Was a while ago i bought one but £30 springs to mind
Bloody hell mate what a s**t day. Hope they didnt charge you for the damaged track that your car was dragged along.
great video but real gutted for you mate
Ashley and Ian Collins (the black Clio) only 0.3 seconds quicker than last year, just looked at the results.
Weve improved by 1.1 seconds from last year at brands
They are and always have been our benchmark
1.2 shell, Stock internals, Jenveys etc
Look closely and its the biggest shed you have ever seen, (Tom JMS are you listening? ;))
but its so quick. he saw we bought a diff and went and got one too. Finished fitting it Saturday night and then span it first lap out of the pits
We had them beat...
made a massive difference. Took me most of quali to get used to putting the power down earlier. Where as normaly you had to wait on the exit of druids, now its much sooner and harder you can get on the gas. You cant just mash it but its made a big difference.
We know it will be quicker in the...
Tonys start. Thats all the footage we got unfortunately. Camera doesnt like kerbs when its bolted solid to the roll cage. A real shame as we would of had some epic footage.
Cant remember the name, Palace of India or something. Didnt decide where or when untill we were on the road. usually just stop for a Burger King in the services but we had a passenger with expensive taste who refused to go anywhere lower than a pizza hut
Ive just got in. Me, Dan, Dave and Tim went for a curry in a small town near the circuit.
What a bloody long day. Was worth it tho, Brands is a great circuit for racing. Report is written (on way home as Bomber drove my family bus back) so just got to wait for it to be published on...
Noise in the engine bay is normal. Its the DBW throttle body.
Does the led flash in the instrument cluster? That would be immobiliser fault. Have you checked batter voltage? Engine earth etc?
Forcast getting better all the time. looks like the sky will empty itself overnight :approve:

We didnt buy them new and have done about 3 wet trackdays on them.
They are about £57 each on Blackcircles last time i looked. We might need some later this year but i'll get them through work contacts if its cheaper
We use heat shirnk crimps. Crimp it together, then heat it up, it shrinks around the wire and makes a water tight joint
And theres a reason solder isnt used in pro-motorsport (yes ECU's are full of solder but its in a fixed point not being flexed like a loom)
Just passing on knowledge given to...
