1. Alpine 9887R
2. Had alpine stuff before, like it. Gave good quality in build and sound reproduction, this one was a definite improvement over the 9855R it replaced. Only criticism is the lack of swingface and a smaller screen.
3. Cross between bassengine pro and the ipod control.
Best: Tie between a Nokia 6680 because it was bloody indestructable (smashed 4 cases and the guts still worked fine) and the N95.
Work: Motorola V2288. Wow fm radio and wap novelty, just a pitty it did fvck all else.
High speed yes, sub 100 no imo. Have driven both, they're only 144bhp and have an extra 200kgs over the clio. Although seem to remember the 1.8 isn't much less powerwise?
2.2 astras are not a quick car, my mate used to have a coupe with that lump in it and there wasn't much in it between that and my 1.6. And it used to have a severe drink problem for the power it gave.
You've been very very lucky it lasted that long, your sure its the dephaser? They don't tend to last that long afaik. If the belt comes off it should be replaced as they shouldn't be retensioned, aux belt is the same story and I wouldn't skimp on it. If the tensioners/idlers were only changed a...
Re: I Just Got a Emense Deal On A 182
Certainly not a bad price I agree, especially on the part exch value considering the current situation. Just the belts will not be cheap and i'd want one with more miles on at that age, its hardly been used for 5 years. I bet for most of the times its ran...
Re: I Just Got a Emense Deal On A 182
Belts will be a stinger and personally i'd rather have one with a few more miles on it, if its genuine that'll be one of the "slower" ones. Not bad for 3.5k but not really a mega deal for one sans cup packs.
The rattle will be that the centre section is shagged, the baffles come loose and make a mega vibration at 4k.
Its a bolted flange on a 172 and afaik they're very reliable really?
Yes renault will sell you a third brake light no problem, if they recon it'll take weeks to come in then its a shite dealers and go to another one. They aren't a grand ammount of cash iirc.
+1
Haven't read the thread but can't agree anymore than this, as a rule decent birds do not car what car you drive skanks do. And anyway I couldn't care less what they think as long as I like it.
Its a very fair price for the ammount of work involved and the stuff that needs to come off.
