    pas pump and water pump

The water pump will only get worse and start to leak if it isn't already. PAS pump might last a while longer, depends how much play is a little really as to how urgent it is.

    Hmmmm confused

Wants the seat replacing really as the airbags tend to bend the frame when they deploy.

    pas pump and water pump

Not ideally, especially the water pump. Cambelt needs to come off to change the water pump iirc.

    Help on 172 Gearbox??

There is no way in hell i'd want to be doing anywhere near that speed in a clio! It feels uncomfortable enough 120+.

    2 182s and a R27 Hinckley 6pm

They've got one in for sale, been there ages which isn't surprising when you look at the price. Someones probably using it as a runaround.

    Crappy aux belt service

Yeh it doesn't do the rubber much good and will only help it slip.

    Monaco On Monzas

Needs hitting with the lowering stick but other than that looks pretty good.
  14. B

    AUX Belt Squeaking?

No you can't, its a spring tensioner. Tension is set, if its letting the belt go slack then it'll just be the spring in the tensioner wearing as it probably hasn't been replaced when it should've been.

When do you change your tyres (1*2s)

When they're pretty worn down and don't perform like they did or to a level i'm happy with, in the bin they go.

    Clutch on its way out?

It could slip, not take drive up smoothly, not disengage properly, etc. What problem are you having?

    Good or bad?

Not for me, don't like them on the megane either. Think its how high the bumper comes up that does it for me, shame as they used to look awesome on mk2s.

    Brake Position Sensor Fault

Yeh deffo up for a meet, can have a look then if you want? I've got a new switch here that you can have if its shot if you want, bought it for my 172 but it only needed adjusting in the end.

    RUST?! have you got any?

The anti-corrossion warrenty is essentially useless tbh. They'll hardly ever pay out on it, especially at that age. You could always see the back arches would be a problem on them just like the mk1 as the way the inside used to hold all sorts of shite which would hold moisture. Used to always...
  21. B

    Brake Position Sensor Fault

I'd bet it doesn't need changing tbh.

    Fuel filter

Because its a 1.2? (sorry couldn't resist :rasp:)

My cup and mates ctr up buxton.

I'd side with shot back dampers first, although mine never ever fell mega planted it was always felt very lively so to speak. My 172 just never gave me the confidence and the planted feeling the 225 does now, it was still a more than capable handler though just personal preference I guess.

    Brake Position Sensor Fault

Yeh for sure, give me a shout.

help:plastic trim hangin off under car

    my exhaust won't seal

Needs to be high temp resistant stuff, i've not had any problem with firegum though tbh.

    Brake Position Sensor Fault

Yeh nuneaton lad here, have seen one running about before with a woman driving. Sound about right at circa £80/hour labour and I think the parts about £20 or so, probably could get away with adjusting it though tbh, its a common thing.

55 plate 172? is this right?

I'm sure this has come up before or theres been another on registered on a 55 plate.

    Decoding ECU

D-type will be a D7F in a mk1 hence 1.2 8v, was only fitted to the Ph3 so I doubt other ecus will work.
  30. B

    Brake Position Sensor Fault

Brake pedal switch most probably either wants changing or just adjusting. Switch isn't a lot of money if its shot, not sure where they've got £118 from.
