I toyed with the idea and almost ended up ordering a miltek but had one last piss about with it and seem to have finally got it right now. Love the noise though, thats the only reason I bothered messing with it as it looks s**t too!
Its possible it'll fit but without an installation guide your up s**t creek. It doesn't look to be specifically customised connection wise, so theres a fair chance it'll work.
The just simply don't fit as standard, or with the standard mounts either. I've had to cut an inch of the sleeve that attaches to the cat so that the exhaust can sit forward enough for the bend over the axle to be in the right position so it doesn't knock.
I had to do no end of f**king about...
Wants to be a JB3 due to it having a higher torque rating than the JB1, i'm gueesing its been changed before at a guess. As iirc the 65 and 80 should both use it.
Its most likely be the side airbag/pretensioner wires under the seat. Have a fiddle with the connector thats what usually sorts it.
Oh and search! This has been covered literally thousands of times.
Hmm i'd have said the noise is mostly down to high compression det which is how a diesel engine works so you'll never get them to sound like a petrol (read: good ;)) I don't think.
How have you fiddled with the switch though? The things i've read are wrong and didn't help me, the problem that involves the brake pedal switch is that the brake pedal switch needs to make to turn the brake lights on before (iirc) 4 bar of pressure has built up in the brake circuit or it puts...
I spent £60 to get the special tools and did mine myself about a month ago now, mine was more difficult due to being a FF with the more complicated aux setup but i'd still say unless your rather mechanically competant then don't bother as the parts aren't cheap and it gets very fiddly and...
Yes theres a strainer thing isn't of it, afaik it isn't removable but then i've never poked around with it. You had anything done relating to the power steering?
Yep the gearboxes/syncros aren't fans of being rammed into a lower gear at high revs, double declutched downshifts are very helpful here.
It should get better as the gearbox oil warms up (mine always have) but this is how the syncros get fecked in the first place so carry on and eventually it...
The plugs are iirc 72k/5yrs and i'm guessing your cup is coming up to/is 5 years old? So they did need doing if so (nice freebie there for you then ;)), but another thing to note is it'll be due a cambelt at 5yrs so that'll want doing at some point soon sooner rather than later.
