The speed control pack for the fan has packed up, common thing its a £100 part from renault unfortunately although its easy to change.

9887R all the way, the audio features alone put it far ahead of the X100 imo. And full speed ipod works as well as i've seen from the X100 as long as your not bothered about the albumart or direct usb connection. Although i'd be tempted with a double din unit the scoob.
You'll have problems with the ABS, not the mechanical side of it. The 172 and the Ph3 1.6 16v had rear discs fitted. God know why you'd want to fab an axle when they're easily avaliable.

The M3 is a lot more usable day to day than the V6 and its the better performer, but I would probably still have the V6 simply because it feels a little bit special to me personally. Can't afford either so just dreaming anyway :).

Does seem very dry in there. Not good, any scoring on the cams? The tossers fucked you good and proper here :(. Leak test would be my first port of call, that or pull the head and see what you find.
The Ph2s did too, thats what cut through the loom to cause all sort of problems. They just altered it with the Ph3 to the same setup as all the others to eliminate the problem.
