    Occasional overheat

You didn't let the tank level fall to the lower opening did you? Otherwise it will have sucked another load of air in, you need to keep coolant in the tank while its sucking a load in.

    Electrical problems now!

Any other fuses blown? That usually means the ignition live is gone. Does the radio come on with the car?

    Yep should be fine.

    1.6 16v engine query

Yeh battery is a possibility, how old is it and is it the original battery? Oil wise I always used to put 5w40 fully synth in mine although theres no "set" grade i'd stick to that.

Anywhere on the downpipe should be fine where theres room really. Well if you weren't getting fuel and spark before the CPS then that must have been a problem unless it was just the way you were checking it. One way is to refit the old coil pack and try again, can flog the spare if the old one...

There none specific according to dialogys, well the 1.4/1.6 and 172 ones are the same anyway. Haven't checked any others, the 1.2 ones are different though. You can probably get away without having a second lambda connected at all as its only there the check that the cat is functioning and you...

    172 not starting

Yep i'd go with that seeing as the lambda is responsible for fueling. Black is over fueling yes, looks like its time to sort a lambda out then!

    Renault alarm fitting guide

lol! Its only a basic alarm as well. And as they're renault customised it should just be plug and play.

    Renault alarm fitting guide

I'd deffo wait until it turns up, you haven't really lost anything even if it doesn't fit at that price. Probably the same old renault stealer bullshit to try and get money out of you.

Alpine X100's in at our car audio shop :)

No its not but its nicely intergrated so thats why I took the risk with it. Haven't had any connection problems at all, even before I deleted all the alpine test devices. The only problem i've got is that my N95 won't send the phonebook or call list across but I knew that before I bought it.

    Renault alarm fitting guide

They would say that, i'd wait until it turns up first. I'm not so convinced. I'm sure thats the one that renault fit anyway, as all the imports with retrofitted alarms tend to use a sigma one.

Nope that won't be helping matters. You bolt it on and tried it? Any luck?

Alpine X100's in at our car audio shop :)

The 300BT not the 9887R ;). People have reported whine when playing ipod, echo on the other end of the call and a few other things iirc. I haven't had any of these.

If you can hear clicking then you've got spark. If you look very closely you should be able to see it. 1 is g/box end correct, you put everything in and tried starting it?

Alpine X100's in at our car audio shop :)

I've got it with my 9887R and its awesome. A lot of people have problems with them though, search around on the net. I haven't had any issues with it btw, I think a lot of it is installation.

    Alpine Stereo interface

Something to bear in mind, those adapters cost about £100 and are very hard to get hold of. The biggest problem you may incounter is i've got the same adapters which a 9887R which is the red version of vehicle display interface and it doesn't work with the display, I just get garbage on the...

    Renault alarm fitting guide

Ah I see, good price that! Should have the fitting instructions with that as long as its complete. Yours an import with no alarm i'm assuming? Or are you scrapping the cobra?

Temp gauge play and not stays in the middle

7700101451 is the temp sender part number.

Temp gauge play and not stays in the middle

    CTS should read: -10c = 9.5kohms 25c = 2kohms 50c = 810ohms 80c = 309ohms 100c = 114ohms 120c = 87ohmsI'd put money on it being a shagged CTS. They always seem to do what you say, none stable temp gauge.

    Renault alarm fitting guide

I very much doubt you'll find anything tbh, these things are very hard to get a hold of. I'm assuming you've got the alarm but no instructions with it?

your all shiting me up now..

Specialist Renault aren't too far from you, give them a bell for a price. They'll know how to do it properly and use geniune parts. http://renault-spare-parts.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=66&zenid=d736a437f1b77a0bf3ab630128ef461d

your all shiting me up now..

Re: your all s**ting me up now.. Its 72k or 5 years, will be the same for a 1.2 8v chris. Assuming it hasn't been changed then its the original cambelt which has done well lasting 7 years! I would imagine going to a specialist you'd be talking £300-400 or so, you don't want to take it to...

    Rolling Road questions

The hub type are more accurate I believe as the varying wheel sizes don't effect the reading. No dyno isn't a brand name is just a shortend version of dynamometer which is what a rolling road is. Read on if interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamometer

    Occasional overheat

Heres the filling/bleeding procedure: http://www.getflat.co.uk/pics/3286A-110-111.pdf Assuming the thermostat is in the right way round and it definetly works? (tested it?) Also you only really want to be using the proper premix renault type d coolant.

    induction kit for 1.6

I've told him a few times before, he'll be complaining when a £300-400 job becomes a £1k+ one when it snaps (and it will). I hope i'm proven wrong for his sake.
  29. B

    induction kit for 1.6

Correct, I remember replying then. Glad I wasn't imagining it, also iirc hes got a ticking timebomb of a cambelt that would be better changed than spending money on i/k thats he's not going to declare.

Is this.... a centre section for the ph2 172?

Top one is a standard fit affair although that second box looks in a strange place (which would be prime to hit the heat shield if not done carefully). That second one is the centre section from a magnex catback, that follows the oem spec more than the other one as there should only be one...
