Yep you'll have to buy some ink. It uses the ink to cool the print heads as it prints so they tend to melt otherwise, and black isn't just only black I don't think. (stupid as it sounds)
The 1.4 uses a JB1 gearbox whereas the 1.6 uses a JB3 to handle the increased torque. Your looking for ideally a JB3-979 gearbox (thats the standard fit).
Ratios are very similar but in my experience the JB3 is nicer to use than the JB1, having said that i'm assuming you've killed yours?
First one hasn't even had the xenons replaced, so i'd be doubting the repair striaght away. If you've done a proper job then you'd deffo replace them imo.
Yep replace the rear discs, the renault ones are the best to get as they come complete with bearings and abs rings. There not cheap though, GDI is the cheapest place i've found them at £150. It'd be less if you were a member and had the cliosport discount.
Also *cough* techinical *cough*
Cheaper iirc. Got mine for GDI for £57 along with the rear discs for £150 which were by far the cheapest I could find them, infact it was cheaper than that actually because of the cliosport discount through being a member. Think it was £150 all in for both.
imo, get an initiale if you want a bus or get a dynamique. You need to toys and leather of the initale to trade off the fact that the interoir is fecking vile.
I had my old one at 18 with 1yr ncb for £980 with norwich union. Although obviously it varies.
I've got Brembo HC Discs, Greenstuff Pads and Goodridge Lines on the 172 and I can't fault them, then again i'm not mad brake hammerer but i've never got them to fade yet. The goodridge lines especially improve the feel when you get them hot hot hot, no squidegy pedal at all.
I'd have gone for...
No he means to take the handbrake off and pump the brake pedal a bit. When I changed mine I found they won't bite until you've pumped the brakes a few times to wind the adjusters out for the handbrake.
And the handbrake was a little iffy until the pads had seen some use, it got a lot better...
Fair enough, never had a car sans ABS. Either way he hasn't done it right then as he's done both rears instead of doing a rear then a front to bleed one circuit.
Hmm the renault tech manual says to do it passenger rear, drivers front, drivers rear, passenger front so fook knows. I just went off how the haynes says and haven't any problems and as they say the proof is in the pudding.
I never had any air in the lines past what was in the new goodridges...
Left them full res here (took fecking aaaaaaaaages to upload):

Took plenty so let me know if you want any other areas.
Thats what I mean by the signal is no better with orange as they use the same network, infact for most places i've been 3 has been better for 3G signal.
