It can be done safely i believe. Sure i remember reading about a couple of 106 rallyes (1.6 8v) running 100bhp shot and it being fine. With a decent controller you should be fine, maybe use a bit less than 100bhp on a 1.2 tho. However thats not really the issue i dont think. Yes its £1200 to...
I did witness a 182 come flying round a corner and then lmao when he curbed his alloy on the bend, concentrating too much on making the tyres squeel and not enough on positioning...oops :o
Its a common fault on the 1.4s as my sisters got one and its been happening to her. Her boyfriend works at the bodyshop for renault and says its a common fault according to renault. Not sure what it is as not spoken to him. only to my sister and all she knows is that its costing her fook all but...
Traded it in last week mate, Got the 106 for a while till i decide what to get next.
Cant really miss me now i drive about in something that bright bloody yellow :)
You car looked nice mate. What was the lad on the moped doin?
...Seen you on brigefoot tonight in your clio with a silver civic. I think it was you, big clio sport sticker in the back and white wheels. I was coming out of the village hotel. Caught up to you when the lad on the scooter was having a word to the guy in the civic. Then you both ran a red light...
Any advice for removing these when you have been a pleb and lost the key? Need to get at least 1 off (Change the wheel) but need to di it without damaging the alloys
Any help would be great. Thanks
Nah didnt notice, too busy looking at my petrol gauge hoping i made it to the BP station in birchwood lol
The light came on as i passed chester services on the 56 so in a panic. Hence me doing 60 on a clear motorway, any faster you would have had to stop and tow me to the garage :)
Friend of mine used to have a golf gti with a decat on, he didnt have the original cat to swap for the MOT so he used some stuff from halfords and then before he dropped it off he drove it like he stole it for an hour. Result was he passed but only just.
I wouldnt recommend (sp) that method...
For comparison i know i guy with a 106gti, viper air filter, decat and stainless system only so no cams etc or remap and he ran a 15.001 @89mph last weekend and was in the 15s all day.
Really dont think there is that much in it really. However you will have to do with aircon and all the other...
Again apologise for the VTS wieght, it was late and i didnt actually check the wieght, i just took it as being the same as the 106 which according to a website i was on and also ben_p's avitar is about 850 kg. Just checked the VTS and its actually 920kg....
...i really shouldnt attempt any...
Been driving a few VTS/106s of late looking for my 172 replacement and i can say that std for std the 172 is faster but again not by much.
However throw £2000 at both cars for modding and the VTS should come out on top. There are lots of 106s putting out @ 160bhp which makes it not too far...
As a trade in it would be worth £5200 mate, thats going by the book. I know because its basically the same as mine and i have been to 8 garages test driving other cars etc looking for a new one and everyone has said the same thing, the official price in the book for 47k on clock is £5200 and not...
gotta think about the cost mate.
Does the £600 for the NOS include a controller? as without one it can be a bit of a waste just spinning the wheels. The controller will only use a certain amount at certain throttle levels and revs etc. If it doesn't include this you will have to add a...
Personally if i was keeping a car forever (obviously forever in car terms is like a prison sentance and very rarely means forever) i would want something of a limited run/collectors item. With my 172 being sold any day now i can def say i wouldnt be keeping one. I have a little project underway...
Handing and fun and generally the best car i have owned would be a Racing Puma. Not the fastest but drives amazingly and i will have another oneday and keep it as a second car (promised myself when i sold it).
Speed would be the 172 although i am currently looking for a mix of the above 2...
Bad luck fella, If you go thru insurance i think you will be screwed with the mods you have, Cams etc you will get away with as rarley checked for however suspension etc is visable. However if you go thru insurance as you are TPFT you would have lost all this anyway. The insurance might still...
For the price of a gti you could get a VTS and spend a bit of money on it.
VTS's are generally quite a bit cheaper than a gti. i know coz i am in the middle of trying to choose now once the 172 sells. Only thing putting me off a saxo is the image as someone else said, the 106 looks nicer...
Car sounds a good deal mate, for cleaning and related things have a search on here mate and look in the detailing section, lots on cleaning and products in there
Good luck
Rick
I imagine once the seats are out, just a case of lifting the carpet out?
Depends how far you want to go? you planning on taking the dash/door cards out also?
What benifit are you hoping to see from this? i presume you want a quieter ride seeing as your replacing the sound proofing? and not...
Yeah you can i think or from demon-tweeks or something, they are recaro treadlines with belt guides. You will be lucky to pay under £1200 tho i think including subframes
When i got my group N ecu it took about 200-300 miles of driving to get it to sort itself out, BBPT and KTEC say that all should be normal after a few hundred mile.
In actual fact mine seemed spot on after about 100miles, the only thing that took longer was for it to set the idle, it idled at...
