IMO if you can see it, insure it. Not worth getting caught out. Certain things a would say you didnt have to. Panel filters for example can be classed as longlife filters so are not looked at the same as IKs. Internal engine work is VERY hard to pick up on if you have an accident and also a...
Thats a very unhelp e-mail all in all. I have had replies from them in the past and always been from one of the sales team and was really helpful.
I still reckon it will fit fine tho if you take out the acoustic valve. Maybe this is why they dont say it fits because they cant be seen to be...
Hillpower will do the group N ecu for £275 supply only for club members, thinks its £300-£350 for non club tho
GDI have it for £295 supply only, not sure what discount you get from that tho
Rick
Renault engines make whatever they want, depends what parts they used at the time. a 172 can be anything between 150bhp and 172bhp, never more lol.
What did you mean by corrected figures?
LOL @ L.A.D comments, They do indeed have a top secret BHP inducing vortex around there garage :)
Bugger! i work down south a lot but at the moment i am working up scotland and the north for the next few months, or else i could have taken it off you hands (crossing your palms with gold - not the cheap silver stuff ben suggested above :) )
Cheers anyway mate
The results could have been due to the RR i was on, Nick said he had never had a 172 produce anywhere near 172 bhp on his RR. The only cars to ever reach the manufacturers spec on his RR were williams. He says the 182 are even worse for it making about 170bhp sometimes...dont know if this is...
Found a company on the internet the other night, cant remember the address now but it was from europe, maybe dutch but they did a group N ecu specifically mapped for use with a viper. Cost was about £300 i think and you didnt have to send them yours in exchange...might consider this if i really...
Nick @ hillpower said the same, the standard ecu will compensate for it running lean, with other breathing mods like decats, IKs etc it will still coap to a point. I had an uprated fuel pressure regulator fitted instead of a remap, tons cheaper and when it went on the rollers afterwards the...
....All i am after is a yes or no answer from the people in the know.
I currently have a green panel filter, i was wondering about an induction kit and the highest my budget will reach is viper or bmc money really. I know the best would be maxogen but i dont fancy paying silly money for a IK...
yeah no probs mate. If i get a new system sent then you can have the new one that comes as i will probably be going for a custom jobbie. Will send you a PM when i know what i am doing, prob be a few weeks tho till i get mine done and then however long magnex take to send me the replacement
The magnex are ok but you lose a bit of low down torque, same with most systems tho i think mate. I was going to claim and get a new system sent to me but i dont think i like the backbox style anymore, thinking of going for a single pipe cut into the bumper. Got a quote from torgeat burnley for...
as above my baffles in my magnex system are starting to go, only had the bugger 4 months. Anyway i know its covered under lifetime warrenty but to be honest i dont really like the twin pipes sitting under the bumber anymore and the design of the backbox means they cant be lifted and cut into...
Regards the fuel pressure regulator...
It will never be as good as a remap, as it wont alter torque characteristics etc like a map will do however it can sort out your AFR when running the mods. This depends how far out your running in the first place i think. My AFR was taken before the...
So you have no way of knowing your 0-60 at all really. This is what i mean with these threads. To many maybes involved. Using a videotape means nothing, as above you have to +/- about upto 3 seconds using GPS and +/- upto 5mph on your speedo if using that.
Best thing to being timed would be a...
By the sounds of it between your 120d and a standard 1*2 there wouldnt be much it in really. Realistically speaking you wouldnt see much difference between a standard 120d and 182 or a modded 120d and modded 182. In the real world the gap would be minimal. Both standard 182 would have it i...
^^ true, i search for hillpower and couldnt find much. I will be going back there.
Also spotted a broken brake vacuum pipe and replaced for free :) (cheers nick)
Had a couple of nice williams in there
Hey all.
Finally got into see nick today for my ported inlets and ported plendum chamber. Also got a silicone bend while i was there.
Rolling roaded before and after shown a gain of 6-7bhp. so now i am getting ever closer to the actual 172 quoted by renault lol. Figures meaning nothing tho the...
i replaced one of mine and i forgot to push in the little plug into the top of the powerpack inside the light. 2 green cables into the plug if i remember. you probably checked this already tho. Its usually the simpliest of things that cause the most trouble.
Welcome to CS, enjoy your stay!
P.S i am hoping one of you got a copy of that pic as its no longer there and didnt notice it first time round
rick :D
Sorry to hi-jak but i have been wondering about something like this, i want some gauges (mainly for oil temp) but then thought about having maybe 3 gauges in the space where the cup holders are. Anyone know any places or garages etc in the northwest that do this kind of things?
Use an image hosting site and upload it then just link to it in the post.
I always used to carry a camera, then camera phones were invented, they can be a god send for stuff like this
Hi all
Just wondered if there is a way to check the gearbox oil level as had it changed the other weekend and there is oil in the drip tray under the car. Now i am worrying they didnt put the bung back in right, either that or when they drained it they didnt care where it all went and got it...
