Hole in bellhousing because of clutch failure

No worries. Shame your not closer as i'd have got my mate to weld it for you.

The Ph1 hit Nurburgring at the weekend

Best advice I can give is to take a steady lap round and look for the white spots painted on the track mate. They're all the turn in points, apex and exits for the correct lines. Then after that it's all about real world practice.

Hole in bellhousing because of clutch failure

Take it to a welder and see if it can be repaired/filled first mate is my advice. You'll need someone who is a bit specialist though. Whereabouts are you?

Hole in bellhousing because of clutch failure

Has it holes the casing and allowed the oil to pass through? Or is it just the bell housing that's damaged? If it's the latter, I'd look at getting it welded personally.

Hole in bellhousing because of clutch failure

    1) yes it has happened to others, but possibly not to the extent where it's holed the bell housing. 2) no you can't just unbolt them unfortunately. If your lucky and find another box that's got the same internal bearing setup then you'll be able to get them swapped over. 3) only one I know of...

The Ph1 hit Nurburgring at the weekend

Yeah no more rubbing now mate. It'll be a totally different animal for next year as well with an 8:15 being the target time. I just picked the right time to go out and do a few laps really. In terms of total laps I've done upwards of 350-400 and around 1500 on the ps2. Lol!

The Ph1 hit Nurburgring at the weekend

Yeah that's one of the places I'm cracking 135+ mate. I'm still at 130+ in the compression then getting ready to brake for Adenauer Forst.

The Ph1 hit Nurburgring at the weekend

It's all about keeping the cornering speeds up. I get 135+ out of mine in certain sections. Track knowledge is the key.

Bit more done today. Got the injector loom, throttle body wiring and coil on plug all brought together now. Starting to come together quite nicely now, but plenty left to be getting on with. More to come!

Double declutching, heel and toe etc

That's a very clever idea! I never thought of even trying that with mine. Lol! It certainly would've been easier than bending the pedal about like I did as its a t**t to hold on to in a vice!

    EPAS

I'll try and get a pic for you tomorrow buddy. If you look at the rack though, you need to loop the section that's to the right of the exhaust manifold and about bang on the centre of the car.

I could wrap it in loom tape and still be tidier than the Renault effort. Lol!

It's glue lined heat shrink mate. It's to seal the loom to stop water ingress. It stays reasonably flexible though and it's not overly cheap. Lol

So, I've done a bit today...................Despite @not normal dan taking the piss after I told him I was in the garage! Lol! Today's efforts started with this: And ended with this: What your looking at there is the loom for the vvt solenoid and the coil on plug. Still plenty to be getting on...

Clio 197 - Engine Written Off - What are my options?

I might be interested in salvaging some parts off it if they're not monster fucked buddy. Let me know and get pics if you can of it all.

Double declutching, heel and toe etc

    Yep fully agree with that.
  24. NorthloopCup

Double declutching, heel and toe etc

To answer your question though, no you don't NEED to be able to heal and toe, BUT it will give the gearbox a substantially easier time and make your driving style smoother.
  25. NorthloopCup

Double declutching, heel and toe etc

That was one of the reasons I made the bigger throttle pedals mate. Makes it easier and safer to do. You need to give it a good stab though when your rocking your foot to make it rev. I also bent the throttle pedal lever to move it across towards the brake pedal.
  26. NorthloopCup

Double declutching, heel and toe etc

Have you tried rocking your foot on to the accelerator pedal whilst braking? I do it that way and it's loads easier.
