I have had both products running in conjuction on 2 cars. I can't give the scientific reasoning like BenR but I can say both products are pants.
I fitted the Ecotek first onto my Metro GTI 16v and it did nothing but try to ruin the induction noise and mess around with the idle speed. I then...

I ordered my elbow today, straight through with no breather inlet all for less than £20 delivered. I think the Hill Power bend is about £50. Top job...
Another couple of Yorkshire lads. Ding dong.
Binnsy, any chance of a shot of the tailgate open so I can see how low it is. I measured up today and you couldn't even get your head under the boot lid.
Back box was sat perfectly today until I removed it. D'oh.
The baffles have gone and it's rattling like a biatch so I need to find out where it was made and whip it back.
The acoustic valve is closed between 2 and 4.5k. See here for details...
A couple of pics for you in this thread mate:

Really easy to do.
Remove wheel arch liner. Remove acoustic valve and all associated pipe work. Spin the horns...
I've had the car about 1 month now and I'm loving it. Spending too much money but still loving it.
Check the pics, sorry for the poor quality.
As the Silver Bullet arrived:

Do you reckon it would be worth it Ben?
I know black attracts heat but would it attract enough to increase inlet temps? I have felt the outside of the box after a run and it has been quite warm.
Pins through the bonnet mate with retaining clips ie. http://www.maserati-alfieri.co.uk/enthusiast66/361226-10a.jpg
Either 2 on the front edge negating the use of the bonnet catch or 2 on the rear as well meaning you can also remove the hinges and have a lift off bonnet.
Security may be an...
Ive been looking at this:
http://www.thinkauto.com/acatalog/Price_List_Aluminised_heat_resistant_cloth_278.html
I was thinking about buying a sheet to cover my airbox as black obviously attracts heat. Would this help lower inlet temperatures?
Is it self adhesive?
My map has given me a more aggressive kick after 5200 RPM, Paul does another map which apparently would make this even more aggressive but it wasn't suitable for my car. The speed with which the car accelerates after 5200 is also much improved as is acceleration lower down the rev range.
The...
Not sure if the decat can be mapped in Meggerman but I would like this if it is an option.
I can give you a shout to confirm the RR if you like and you can come along for the ride and see how the car gets on.
Custom stainless exhaust currently with the cat and a PiperX panel and modded airbox (removal of acoustic valve, feed replaced with 70mm ducting down to base of wheel arch).
Have a look here mate:

Paul did mine and it has made a big difference. I reckon it should be running about 185 now so should have achieved about 10bhp on the map.
That's the one mate. I've sorted out with Matt who seems like a top bloke.
As for the mk1, I suppose someone must make one. PM Team Think and see what they can knock.
Well I found out the other night that I was achieving the same effect as no recirculating breather.
My car was bogging down when pulling away in 1st. On investigation I found that the breather pipe was off on the block end so the car was drawing air constantly. The inside of the engine cover...
Cracking, a long length of pipe I think it will be then. Probably just leave the end of the pipe open and angle it towards the road. No need for a filter or anything then.
I'll have a look at the Spec-R jobbies though Nick. I've been offered a custom 1 litre for £55 though so that may be an...
Cheers buddy, would be much appreciated if I could get an idea as to where the feed runs from the filter and how it works its way around the radiator etc.
