hi mate, I did this but it would still only go into 5th. Even if I take off the gear linkage (the bit goes into the gearstick) and I move the small linkage at the bottom of the gearbox it will only go into 5th. Ive tried jiggling it about and it only goes into 5th.
Could this be anything else?
Also it pops into 5th (engine running or not) easily but its very stiff going anywhere near any other gear and it just wont go if that makes sence. Its like its not going to the right place so its not slotting in as such. I cant even get reverse. The car will even move forwards in 5th :eek...
So basically the car has been running so much better since the gearbox mounts have been changed.
Running perfect took it to work parked in 1st as I always do and handbrake on first though. No whinning to funny noises nothing.
Now Ive just finished work its 4.20am and the car wont go into any...
Another Dundee owner! Falkland last time I checked where silly expensive like in the 6-700 bracket. I'd either get NW performance or take it to fred in brum. Book a hotel for a few days and take a mini holiday lol.
Cheers guys will check it all again :dapprove:. TBH I think if I jack the rear of the car up I should be able to tell. Im going to get the wheel algnment done to.
Thanks guys
Cheers mate will take them off and check. I tried doing the press down on the car And see if it bounces but it feels solid. Atleast the rears are a fairly easy job.
Man I just got these shocks they where supposedly off a low miler. The cars done 40 miles now and feels much better. Il get the alignment done and if that doesn't sort it then 2 new shocks it is :(
yes , they where fine, if anything probably better than my old shocks. It not just dodgy going round cornors it like it feel likes it wants to wander even when going in a straight line. Il have a look at the springs at the back to make sure they are on right.
Cheers Rory thats good to know, If...
Recently I changed my old mk2 ph2 172 non cup springs and shocks to some newer ones off a172 cup. Mine where probably orginals from the factory and the ones I bought had 15k miles on them. So mine where non cup and I swapped them for a 172 cup suspension. I replaced front and rear.
Changed it...
Done, cheers guys! Hint for anyone doing this is when hammering the bolts out, leave the nuts on the end so it doesnt damage the bolt.
Cheers guys:cool:
Thanks for your reply, Sorry if its not clear. Either the strut needs to go higher or the hub needs to go lower for them to align fully. I have tried jacking up the balljoint but this puts the hub even higher (opposite way to the hole)
I have been replacing my front struts today as a coil was snapped but got a set of low mileage springs and dampers to replace with. After fitting the new struts I am having problems aligning the bottom two bolts that bolt the strut to the hub. The holes almost line up but not quite, its...
In my nissan manual it says you should start the car and not drive it for 30-1min. TBH i dont really stick by this rule but usually I turn the car on and get comforatble and so on thats probably 30 secs but your right nothing bad happens if you drive off straight away.
I run 100w high beams, because I only use them on a really dark country road and IMO its safer that its brighter and the other thing is for people who dont turn their beams off. One flick with the beams and they turn their's off straight away.
I I have flashed police and people infront of the...
serves you right for buying an apple, you cant pose at starbucks with a broken laptop can you?:rasp:
Only joking I think they are now made in China and build quality is bad as people get depressed making them I think.
No problem mate, Did it come wit the HT leads? Are they deffo the right ngk p6 something or others? You probably know more than me anyway just trying to help
If your doing 1/4 miles and the like then yes get them. The reduce movement and waste less energy moving the engine. I honestly felt it was faster with the upgraded mounts. There will be more vibration though bit IMO it's worth it as it tightens the whole car up. It stops the engine feeling like...
