I got air in my ABS pump when changing my lines, took forever to get out (and I still dont think its all out, rubbish pedal)
Just keep running fluid through. I had to bleed untill I got a decent pedal then fire off the ABS then re-bleed.
I only heel and toe on trackdays and when out on a hoon. Normal driving I might have a cheeky rev match now and then but its not often necessary.
I once tried left foot braking, my head couldn't understand that it wasn't the clutch so I just kept pressing harder untill it stalled :o
My car seems to be eating stats at the moment. When I bought it it needed a new one, that lasted nearly a year. The one I replaced that with has only lasted a couple of months.
First one was from a local factors, second from euro car parts.
Is getting one from renault the best option? How...
We ran both our formula student cars on E85 with no mods. We did look into all the problems with seals etc but for the short time the cars were used for it was fine. I woudn't bother with the clio, is it even any cheaper? We had to go 30 miles to get ours.
Thats fine, gap looks a bit bigger than normal, like its got the washers in that stop the top mount knocking. If the gap wasn't there you wouldnt be able to steer!
If you want to be sure try to tighten the upper rubber.
I've got the liftmaster one in the first link, its fine. The only problem is although the lifting pad is very low its not long enough to reach to the box section under the car. Its ok with sportlines because the whole jack can fit under the car but any lower and its not going to work.
Re: Noob Question
Hold it on with masking tape, drill small hole, put in self tapper.
It can be hard to get the car high enough to get a drill underneath, if i was doing it again I would take the bumper off, only takes 5 mins.
What exactly has happened to it? I thought mine had rusted through but it was just the cups on the fitting kit. It was around £570 for a new manifold when I enquired in 2009.
Ive got a 24v Clarke one, was about £95 from machine mart. I only use it for wheels so didnt need a mega torque expensive one, as long as it undoes wheel nuts and doesnt fall apart im happy.
Under the plastic is the isofix bar. IIRC thats 2 bolts, these bolts stick out the bottom of the car and so will be very rusty and hard to remove. Once there out there is one (torx) bolt, then you slide the seats backwards, you'll see what I mean when you get the isofix bar out.
Get under the...
The thread will be rusty and full of crap. I got a toothbrush and WD40 down mine to clean it up, you will still need a bar through the ring though. Its good its tight, stops it being nicked!
What? :S
A wider track will reduce lateral load transfer across that axle, giving more grip. In this case it will increase rear grip.
If anyone wants to read into this then "Racecar vehicle dynamics" can be downloaded from "sources"
I got that for about £10 a while ago, I used it for a bit but it just wasn't stable enough for be, missing frames, files corupting etc.
I just use a proper miniDV camcorder now.
Whats the car going to be used for? If its going to be raced its going to need proper roll cage padding, not pipe insulation!
For the wires use rivnuts and p-clips.
