Yep, first thing I did when it was brand new! Ride quality is fine, handling greatly improved. You get a pretty subtle drop with Eibach springs - in this pic the red car (mine) has the Eibachs, the Silver one (Roamers) does not. http://homepages.tesco.net/~mmikee/clios.jpg

Forget the engine mods, get a set of Eibach springs. Will cost a touch over £100 (about £120). The best mod you can do for the money.

OK, how stupid do I feel? I bought some of those alloy valve caps last summer. Thought Id check the tyres today seeing as its nice and sunny for once. Cant get the rear valve caps off at all! Tried holding the valve with pliers and twisting the cap with a spanner - just wrecks the rubber on...

I have a lurverly video of that Saxo (yes its a VTR) toasting one of our 172s at York last summer. I think it makes about 190bhp, and having seen it go I wouldnt argue with that figure!

I can think of one Saxo (cue HardCoreSax) that Ive seen that will comfortably cane a standard 172, but theyre few and far between.

Theyre both pretty much maxed out, but you can get a few extra BHP (10+) out of either with induction / zorst / chip. Extreme measures to get much more.

Exhaust manifold and induction system are different too.
