Sign of the times - Big Brother etc etc. I object to cameras too but Im not sure why. If you voice an objection the answer is usually why do you object if youve nothing to hide?
Mind you if it catches a few tax dodgers I spose its a good thing - apparently most people who have no tax have no...
I bought insurance for the first trackday that I did, I think it was £55 for the day. The cover wasnt great - huge excess, only about £5,000 worth of cover. Could have paid more for extra cover but the excess (£750 I think) was always large.
I figured that I was only going to have 2 sorts of...
True, I usually limit myself to 6 or 8 laps at a time then let things cool down. Really need to upgrade the brake fluid too though, and Im not sure I could be @rsed with that.
I didnt realise how good the brakes were until I did a track oriented driving course. A 172 will outbrake virtually any car you can mention. They do fade on trackdays but then so will any brakes that are also suitable for the road.
Theres a red one in Telford - the only one Ive ever seen. I heard somewhere that you can get the same red/black/blue/silver colours that the 172 comes with. Is the new blue the same as the Cup blue?
About £150 assuming its more or less the same as a 172. Quality seems to vary wildly according to which dealer you choose. I think most people would advise you to use an independent garage, particularly if you can get someone to recommend one.
Strong or weak, the carbon fibre is unlikely to have the same qualities as the steel bonnet. Its not just about strength - the ability of the bonnet to crumple gradually and absorb the energy of an impact is the prime requrement.
Bloody hell Im beginning to bore myself here never mind...
I thought about this a while ago, and yes, amazingly trick and amazingly expensive. Biggest problem of all is safety though. The bonnet is part of the structure of the car and in an accident its designed to absorb a lot of the forces of an impact.
If you can wait a fortnight Ill be getting mine RRd and the results will be in the members section. Also have Magnex but with PiperX panel filter. You may well be running lean with your Viper - good idea to get it checked out.
