Simple trigger it to advance/r****d X degrees, or is it PWM controlled to try and trim the timing? (Is there feedback as to how far the depahser has moved?)
I know there is the dephaser pulley, but is there an electronic valve that opens an oil channel etc to make the timing change on demand (eg engine speed/load)
cheers
I have indeed driven cars with braided/rubber hoses and felt the fact the hoses were braided offered little to no extra 'feel' compared to good condition OEM hoses..... pad compound has a greater impact on 'feel' imho
Basically I'd never bother changing the lines for something else unless the...
unless your rubber hoses have actually failed, I cant see any point in fitting braideds.... Those who have fitted them and claiming improvement have either had utterly shagged pipework or they are talking rubbish to justify the cost of the swap (or, less than likely, they are a race driver who...

They were twice the price of 1144's for the vx, but they lasted about 4 times longer and gave unbelievable stopping.... Granted the use of them also should include the cost of a wheel refurb before sale (if you care about having shiney wheels)
55's seem to just lay thick dust down but dont put...
Sparks... WTF!!!!!!!!
When they were on my VX I NEVER had sparks! That was with gyppo £20 a disc plain vectra discs and the PF97's..... Is it something with the discs the clio has that makes them spark like feck, or is it grooved discs just breaking up to cause them? I dont believe in grooves...
I ran 97's on a daily car (not a clio) and they were fine, although given my laziness with washing cars the wheels are now in dire need of a refurb to get shiney (if thats your kind thing).
I loved how they were better than OEM when cold, and then with a tiny bit of heat in them you would get...
A leak down test would be preferable to really get a good idea as compression tests are hugely swayable with temperature of the engine, air temp, oil temp, oil type, starter condition, battery condition etc etc... But you know all this anyway ;)
Re: Your ideal 172/182 catback exhaust: what tips, color, size etc..? Possible group
I'd like a stainless OEM replacement that is no louder than standard... Ideally it would be quieter than std really, and little to no rasp lol. Oh and fit the OEM CAT
Looks the same as OEM too, My OEM...
Will the wiring diagram in the back of the clio haynes manual cover the 182 bar the engine, or is the harness totally different (I cant imagine that it would be as it would cost too much)
I've found that the Hi-Beam (blue) teletale is irritatingly bright and with the rest of the teletales they dont dim down with the dash control.
Is the dash CAN controlled or a simple wire from the switch? If its a wire from the switch then I can chuck an inline resistor in to tone things down...
This morning I tilted the drivers seat to put something in the back, then locked it back in place with no funny sounds. Then I went to work and on the way braked keenly and my seat just slid forwards :s and wouldnt go back very far/lock.
Pulled over and had a jiggle about and got the seat...
Are Kam the only place to get the CL's from, or can any CL seller get them?
I'm in silverstone a lot at the moment and there has to be someone here that can supply, saves faff with postage etc
lol atleast it looks 'better' than most of the lashup electric chargers.
To give a noticeable increase in performance you need to run the inlet side of a turbo with a suitable motor that can pull nearly 400Amps for a short time, and those system do exist, and cost atleast a grand a piece for...
I like my gay blue (oops RB) 182 as its just a stupid colour for a stupid car (thats a good thing btw). I was trying to get an Inferno one but nothing local enough came up that wasnt a shed.
If you want a totally understated 182, then Black, silver and that dark blue would be good as most...
Mine idles worse (and runs far richer) on Tescos Momentum TMS 'tested' fuel... it does run smoother when off idle though (cant say it feels faster or anything tbh)
On pikey 95 fuel it idles beautifully and not so rich, but isnt quite as smooth when moving.
for most factory N/A engines (I regard...
Having seen the 'quality/life' of milteks on another brand/model of car, I'd sooner put a renault exhaust on lol
Does Mr Fish in Harlow do custom exhausts or is that not his bag?
