I'm looking to mod my ph2 172, to hopefully improve the shocking low down torque. I have a BMC CDA but haven't yet fitted a cold air feed. I was just wondering if a decat makes much difference?
Yeah I will be careful. Do the carbon ones come with pre-drilled holes? Then I just need to mark the holes on the bumper, drill the holes on the bumper the screw the splitter on?
Think I'm going to use a jack to jack it up and screw it on one side at a time (as I only have access to one jack). Do you reckon a jack will give enough clearance?
Rang a garage near me to ask if they could fit it and he didn't know what a splitter was. He sounded a bit retarded to be honest. Will it take ages to remove the bumper? and is it hard? Is it just a case of unscrewing a few allen head bolts and pulling it off?
Cheers
If they are 100+ alloys then I have those on my 172 but 17's. Not my choice by the way before everyone slates me. They were already on the car when I bought it from the garage. I haven't go round to changing them yet!! Not sure what to go for
When I'm in nuetral and the car is running at circa 750rpm, it feels like the engine is juddering, sort of like a pulsing feeling from the front end, as if it wants to stall. I was wondering if this is a common problem, and also whether it's easily fixed?
Where abouts is Yozza Sport based? Dunno if it's worth a massive trek, but then again I want it doing properly. I've got a feeling if a local garage does it, they might end up breaking it or something
182 with both cup packs definitely. 172 Cup is orientated mainly around performance, at least you get a few comfort mods with a 182 like the climate control, cruise control, half leather seats and don't forget xenons and the sh*t hot exhaust.
I've got no hope then :( I will take it to the garage in that case cos I will end up getting stressed and chucking the splitter at my car or something!! Have they said how much it will cost to fit it? I assume it's only a 5 minute job for a mechanic
How far is your front bumper off the floor? Mines onlu been lowered 25mm from standard, but I bet it's fiddly trying to fit it without a ramp or jacking the front end up
Can anyone tell me whether it's hard to fit a carbon splitter to a ph 172? Mine should arrive tomorrow and I'm probably going to fit it tomorrow night. So are there any tips? Do I need to take the bumper off?
cheers
I've noticed as the weather is getting better and the sun is shining that there are swirl marks on my bonnet. I assume they are little scratches made when cleaning the car? Can anyone tell me what product to use to get these swirls out??
Cheers
I wouldn't say it's much of an upgrade tbh. For a good 03 reg with about 30k miles your looking at £9-10k for a type r. Go for a trophy for that price, won't depricate too much with them being rare. Civics are common as pig-poop, there's about 6 around my area all driven by either chavs or...
Had an email of k-tec saying the splitter should be with me by Thursday! So I assume anyone who has ordered one in the last 2 or 3 weeks will have it soon!
Cheers mark! They look quality from the pics you sent! I will have to post some pics up in the next weeks (after I finally get my carbon splitter as well...which will be weeks away yet)
