Stick with what you have.

The glue and tar won't work as the marks are deep into the paint. If wet sanding and polishing does not sort it you will need some paint.

On a highly polished surface the nature of the stuff means it is nearly impossible to induce some marking when your shearing stuff of the paint. On some colours you wont see it - silver etc, on dark colours, blacks and soild reds micromarring is an issue.

I used to do it on my old Concours 306, stayed on fine - never got driven that hard though lol. Not bothered with the 182.

No was a totally standard looking 205 1.6 on the G plate with a very badly painted underside. I used to compete against him with me 306.
