To do full defect removal with a PC will take lots of hours even on a small sized car. As soon as you through into the equation something like hard German paint you can easily spend 8 hours just on the paint before tackiling any of the other areas. Brazo and I spent around 12 hours with 2 of us...
In the same token others will say that it is impossible to do damage to your paint with a PC which unfortunatly is not true. Some people used to quote "The only way you can damge paint with a PC is if you actually throw it at the panel" which is not true at all.
But yes using a polishing pad...
The PC will remove defects that would take days to remove by hand, or thoses by hand wouid even fail to do so.
The gloss you will achieve using a well choosen finsihing polish will surpass in most cases the finish you can get by hand.
Hope they are not all falling apart like the ones in the Renault demo cars that where at the RWS etc.
I thought they felt supportive but the back rest felt odd.
Wash, clay, Machine Polish with whatever compounds and polishes are needed. You can then go straight to the wax depending on the finishing polish used, or then use the SRP and wax.
TBH - If you sticking some SRP on you may aswell EGP it for some real protection as Nattys Blue is not that...
You can use any good Carnuba wax ontop of the SRP and EGP combo. A decent pure carnuba will add to the looks no end. Depending on the paint colour and your budget as to which I would recommend.
The wax as you dry products the Prima Hydro and Duragloss Aquawax both look good and are easy to use...
I like the Vee but each time I look at them I spot odd looking bits I dont like.
Like where the rear arch meets the quarter with a cheap stuck on look and tacky looking line.
I would make sure you get 2 or each grade of pad in both 6 inch and 4 inch.
So
SFX 6 inch Cutting Pad x 2
SFX 6 inch Polishing Pad x 2
SFX 6 inch Finishing Pad x 2
SFX 4 inch Cutting Pad x 2
SFX 4 inch Polishing Pad x 2
SFX 4 inch Finishing Pad x 2
Same thing afaik Al - from the web "underseal - seal consisting of a coating of a tar or rubberlike material on the underside of a motor vehicle to protect against/r****d corrosion" which mirrors the coating on my 182.
3M sell it in sprayable cans.
The black underseal on mine is from the factory - I have owned it from new.
I will get a pic - mine has a thick painted on layer of thick black underseal all on it.
I am guessing you car did not have this and you just have removed a few tar spots rather than a thick layer of black?
The black stuff is the underseal. Looks better with it gone, (not sure I would want to run it day to day without it though) - what did you use to strip it off with, mine is thick with the stuff?
