The Blue Sonus one feels alot different to the Megs one, much softer. They are both made form a waffle type microfiber, but that is where the similarity ends.
I have a 172 to do in the next few weeks so will compare. The laquer on the 182 wheels seems to respond well to polishing, looked quite flat on purchase but have cleaned up well.

Thats the one Ben, pot looks tiny, but you use so much less than say the Poorboys one. Pot hardly looked touched after doing all 4 wheels. It is a very hard wax coampred to the other wheel waxes which are almost liquid like in the tub in some case.
I don't bother with anything other than Prima Hydro, OCW or Aquawax on my daily drive at this time of the year being as they are all easy to use in 5-10 mins max after a wash. Never look anywhere nears as good as the full on process.
Still looks the same even after a long journey and does not splatter which is why I use it. Don't use the car in the rain much so can't comment on that.
I would not wet sand the paint unless your feeling confident.
Claying wont touch swirls and t-cut is not a great product. A machine polish with some decent compounds/polishes is the first step.
