Call me a dizzy blonde...but you know when you all do your 1/4 mile times in your 172/cups....do you switch off traction control...always wondered this?
I think the traction control system would artifically restrict the power down on the tarmac.
i am not going to bother...its not worth the extra cost for something i didnt mind doing for which i accepted there may not be a noticeable differenct but would of made things run better...particularly in the cold.....the insurance companies are money grabbing sharks !!
Tomorrow I will look for him, the green cotton air filter will be going in and optimax.....its silly his false portrial, because it was a beautiful car with the mods....but i dont believe you should hype any car beyond its power capabiliites...if a saxo beats him then the saxo driver will brag...
Tonight I was on the hoy around Sunderland, Tyne and Wear...In Vine Place there was a very light pea green type Clio...He had the 172 badges on the side at a none Ktec etc exhaust. Big Big alloys, the wrong seats and no washer balls on the front headlights....He had the 172 type body kit with...
Hello on my 172 I have bought a green cotton replacement air element.. I range the insurance firm today and explained I was modifying the standard configuration of the car with this air filter replacement...I explained it was because I would get better fuel econmy plus maybe an extra 4 bhp...
girlsfriend father bought some and it was rubbish....it did nothing with the scratch....instead i got some clear paint laquer and slowly filled the scratch...let it dry and t-cut it flat for a better effect
Yesterday my 172 had its 12k service....it went in with a crunching gearbox in 3rd....two mechanics went out in it yesterday afternoon to find the problem, i am sure they had fun. But the car feels smoother and the power is back...its phenominal actually.
My only question is, should they of...
yes if you did have a car registration number, then the DVLA would write to you with the addresss....this information they give isnt regarded as top secret or private....similarly local authorities write to you with parking tickets you havent paid using the same channels
Hello
Are people aware that thieving scumbags can contact the DVLA and get your home address from your car registration?
Although the data protection act gives you some protection, the DVLA will post out your details within a week of the request going in.
My advice is you contact the DVLA...
There was a guy on scoobynet a couple of weeks ago had his imprezza type R in the car dealership overnight...the garage was broken into....although the thieves had no keys....they were ableo to work on the car, remove the clifford alarm so i believe and get rid of the tracking device and to this...
My point about clifford alarms are yes they are popular...there arent many firms whom can fit them well....25% - 30% of clifford alarm owners have problems.....most of the add-ons are gimmicks....toads vers cliffords....toad is better value for money...thieves can bypass factory fit...
172 Gal....try the Toad Ai606 cat.1 alarm...its cheaper does the same job as clifford without the gimmicks...stay away from Gap sercuirty advertised in max power...heard bad reports..The toad can be fitted with a compact battery backup siren needed for under the bonnet.
But the secret with any...
172gal....save your money and go for the disklok...your car should already have an alarm....Cliffords are good, 75% of clifford owners are satisfied..but i would seriously consider a Toad Ai606 cat.1 which comes with a compact siren to fit under the bonnet.
Trackers are good, i would...
This morning i drove my 172 to work and all was working fine...it had 1/2 tank of optimax in and seemed perfect. Parked at 8:30am and returned back to the car at 6:30pm....from pulling away it was lumpy , had no performance and seemed to be down on power...there was only one solution....i drove...
Mac your not judged by me on what you spend....you have the rewards in performance. In the future if 172s have a turbo upgrade i think things would be really close on the 1/4 mile times
Mac
How much have you spent on the engine rebuild complete?
I have read of gti-r owners buying the car for £6k and spending another £20k tuning it.
How much is it worth now?
Not having a dig at you, only curious
