I have had a my phase 1 SORN'd for 2 years now, can't bring myself to sell it. Thinking about it though, i don't think i'm as attached to my phase 2....
Ok here's a photo,
As you can see the wiring/plug is there and it fits a speedo sensor no problem, but there is no way the speed sensor is going to fit in the recess pictured and no drive visible anyway.
The new gearbox theory could be a good one as i have no history with it so i can't...
Hi
There is no speedo sensor although the wiring plug is there. Have brought a sensor but no way will it fit in the gearbox, my brothers 172 cup had his speedo stop working last weekend and fitted it to his no problem, on the cup with the sensor out you could see drive part in the box which on...
Hey Guys,
Hit a bit of a dead end with this on the search function.
My speedo has never worked since i've had the car and after searching it appears it works from a sensor related to the ABS as apposed to a non ABS Clio's such a cup with works off a sensor on the gearbox.
Can anyone tell...
I found that my mild steel Ktec stealth cat back fitted fine?!
I fitted it on my own, on my drive way with no real issues at all - here's some pics of how mine sits,

I emailed Powerflex and explained the problem and asked if i could buy the split bush seperately to save me buying a complete kit again and they are sending me replacement parts free of charge :)
I fited a cat back system on my clio on the weekend and found it the cat nut & bolts very rusty, so i just cut them with the grinder in seconds and replaced the nut & bolts....
haha oh well, we live and learn i guess! on the bright side the ktec exhaust i fitted on the weekend went on a treat, well impressed.
Must admit thats one i thing i hate about polybush kits is that the washers are always just loose in the box.....
I fitted a polybush kit to my twisted dog bone mount just before xmas and i found this when fitting a ktec exhaust on saturday,
Anyone else has this problem? pretty shocked it only lasted a couple of months!
The smoke you were getting after the misfire had been fixed was most likely just all the unburnt fuel clearing that had collected in the exhaust system from when it was missing :)
Some old vid's of it just after we got the engine up and running,

The Rover v8 is an alluminium block, so a weight saving on the original cast iron 1.8 b-series engine!
I went down the Rover V8 as it required minimal modifications, only mod was a little bit of cutting and welding to the...
Just thought i'd post some pictures in here for anyone interested :o
This is my 1978 MGB GT, owned it for 7 years now - started off as a standard GT, rubbers bumpers, 1800cc b series engine etc... and this is how it stands now,
Bonnet Vent serves a purpose :D
It's a 3500cc Rover V8...
Well i'm trying to get rid of the winter blues by thinking of my upcoming trip back to the 'ring in April, so my cheap trackday hack needs a new paint scheme......
Currently in a mix of matt black and camo! ('ring last year)

What next? feel like a change....
Right just to add my experience of a similar problem i had with mine and i've skimmed through the posts quickly as in a rush, so apologise if this has already been covered!
So when turning the key is the engine turning over but not firing?
I broke down in the middle Dusseldorf (was in...
If your careful you can do it without undoing the undertray, the lifting plate on the trolley jack will fit easily through the sump plug acess hole on the under tray... i've always left mine in place.
Some inspiration this was my cat 'd' when i got it,
Yep it had been attacked by a hammer or an axe! all but one window had been smashed.....
Now,
Saved a fortune by doing 95% panel work myself, low mileage and runs faultlessy despite its run in with an angry scottish person at...
I'd have bought it for £1600 :)
The way i see it is hopefully for £2500 you should have an mot'd, road legl tidy looking cup.
I've seen cat 'c' phase 2's go for that much (£2500) in the past on this very forum....
As long as your planning to keep it for a few years you'll soon get your...
Re: My own style Clio...finally thread up lol
Hey Tom, met you today at the meet (spoke to you about your lenso's) just been having a thought about what you said about your beetle steelies - you do realise the stud pattern on those are 4x130 as opposed to 4x100 on your clio?
I felt it was pretty good, but i did feel the gearbox was bit notchy in mine, not very smooth but the power delivery was good, no turbo lag etc and obviously being a turbo tuning potetial is very good - i'd have another to be honest but would have to spend a bit of time on upgrading the...
