Looking to buy a set of coilovers for my 182 Cup in the next few months so thought I'll start with the research now. Car will be mainly used for road usage with maybe the odd trackday.
Many seem to recommend an H & R set up is the best to go for? There are others, are they better?
Overall...
They took a while to wear in but my Brembo Max's and DS 2500's are now working very well. Certainly an uprgrade over the o.e.m. equipment.:)
Taken some serious abuse on my local track at over 110 mph, haven't encountered fade yet. Must try 140, shame the home straight won't allow it.:dapprove:
Welcome.:)
Cressing is only a few miles from myself. I took my 182 Cup there when I first bought it. The technicians who looked at it couldn't even tell me if the engine was the correct one for the car!!!!:S
What does that say......hmmmm.:dapprove:
I'm using a BTB. I'm sure it's dropped a little over the past 1500 miles since fitted. I'll need to do the same or buy some new mounts.:dapprove:
Also the tail pipes seem to be protruding more so than when originally fitted?:S
^ Both Ben R and Paul at RS tuning said this.
You're using the 420's yourself?
Just didn't want to lose any low down torque, which well may occur if 428's are used.
Looking to get the cams, inlets and re-map for late April early May.
Can't wait.:)
Spoke to Ben R at AngelWorks today.
Opting for Cat 420's as opposed to 428's.
The 420's so I'm told will offer greater low down gains over the O.E.M. cams which is something I feel the 182 lacks.
I liked the idea of the sort of v-tech characteristics of 428's but didn't wish to lose any...
^ I guess there is a possibility of Renault doing the job under warranty then.
Then again, thinking about it.....is it such a good idea to let Renault loose on the car? Hmmmm.
Thanks gary.:)
Damn, she's still in warranty, though with the mods fitted so far I doubt Renault would've touched her.
Especially that BTB exhaust you sold me which is probably causing the oil leak.;)
I'm using a YozzaSport de-cat with my BTB exhaust on my 182 Cup.
They're not cheap at around £100 delivered but the quality of the component is very good due decent materials and engineering.
I wouldn't say I've experienced any power gains, re-map needed. Nice sound from the exhaust though.:)
Coilovers are on the list and will appear in summertime. About a 20-30 mm drop. No lower as the e.t on SuperTurismo's is 37, don't fancy having the arches modified.
I may go for blue O.Z. graphics upon the wheels food for thought, considering options.
The other day I noticed a small amount oil had collected just above the silver bolt below the oil filler neck. Pretty sure I cleaned most of it out so I could see if something is leaking. It also seems to be making it's way southwards and collecting in a recess on the head.
An area of concern...
