    Tuning begins....

Thanks guys.:) I've got a limit to take the car too. As I bought it for my job and social usage, can't be too lary with the tuning or I'll be greatly out of pocket with my my monthly fuel claims. Buying many pieces over the next six months.

    Tuning begins....

Just bought this of a fellow club member. Very pleased with condition of the exhaust and quality of workmanship here. Bought the BTB on the strength of the comments of other owners on here. Should be on soon.....:)

    Mature ReaultSport Drivers..

What a daft thing to say. I'm 32, soon to be 33. I haven't had a hot hatch since I was 24 and pleased to own one again. Espescially since it's one of the finest through the bends. Bought my 182 Cup as I could afford to use it for my job, 100 miles usually every day. Although a light...

There's hope for my Dad then. He's 71, drives a Rover 75. He's keen on a 350 Z. Hope he really does buy one when it comes to it. Perhaps I'll get the keys to it one day.:) :) :)

    how much is it worth?

Import direct from the land of the setting sun. There's quite a few low mileage exmaples over there and they're a better car...if you like the front end of course.

Christ those at the wheel figures are good!!!!! Mine only managed 134 hp at the wheels!!!! No mods at all. It's loosened since, excpect maybe 5 more hp. Engine was very stiff. The dyno was done at Engine Advantages in Witham, Essex. Was told while there that fly wheel power was 177 hp. Pure...

    Better late than never...

I would've kept the Elise, the original plan was to install the Autoteknix convertion at Guglieimi motorsport. I went for a passenger ride in a an Elise which had been converted with the VAG 1.8 turbo running at 275 bhp. Bearing in mind it the car only had a curb weight of 750 kgs. The ride...

The best way to clean my car is.....?

There seems to be two forms of Duragloss shampoo. A 901 and 903. Both are concentrates I believe. Which one did you use Rich and gets your vote? Thanks.:)

Anyone had issues with 182 having no spare wheel ?

Hmmm...I think the space saver is the way to go. Vauxhall 4 stud from the current Vectra? How do I go about enlarging the hub?

17s - why will they handle badly?

Yes the 16's are using oem spec Exalto 205's. I won't notice a difference then in any way whatsoever should I purchase 17's?
  18. The Seer

17s - why will they handle badly?

...any nasty handling in the bends apart from tramlining?

17s - why will they handle badly?

Very nice too.:) Yeah coilovers are on the list. I dare say the bad traits of 17's can be rectified via adjustable suspension.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.:) :) I'll post a few pictures of the Elise S1 I had this also.

    Better late than never...

Decided to upload a couple of photo's of the car. Didn't bother at first since me and PC's don't get on to well.

17s - why will they handle badly?

....but why then have several specifically said characteristics have changed for the worst when using 17" rims on that's on U.K. roads? ....as well as some saying no noticeable difference like yourself. Very confusing.

The best way to clean my car is.....?

I doubt it's been done in the car's life so far. On 26K now. Should it be done after all swirls marks have been removed?
  26. The Seer

TRON the film, they used a clio in it!!!! pics

    Uh!!! How ghastly!!!:S

The best way to clean my car is.....?

Cheers Brand. Look forward to hearing the results. Haven't clayed the motor yet, not really up on that sort of thing. Hope the shampoo works out well for you.:)

    Hey

Gotta be the Trophy. Those 197's are too heavy. I doubt handling or acceleration is a nice as a Trophy.
  29. The Seer

    not impressed with 172 handling??

I find that when I push my 182 Cup understeer is gradual. When pushed harder in understeer depending on the angle of the apex the back becomes looser in it's grip. Oversteer is near. Sounds like the 17" rims have accentuated the bad traits of the Clio's poise and balance.
  30. The Seer

    not impressed with 172 handling??

I'll bear that in mind. Been asking questions recently. Considering 17's.
