iPhone - more than the sum of its parts.

I have to agree,I cannot understand the fascination with the n95 or other recent n series phones. My n73 was the worst phone I've owned in a very long time, a 6630 I had two or three years prior was far better and ran quicker than the new breed of nokia symbian handsets. For me the iPhone is...

iPhone - more than the sum of its parts.

I have auto sync turned off and also have had no problems with battery life. Even with wifi left on the iPhone easily beats the battery life of previous Nokias I have owned.

I wouldn't because I like to browse the net during the journey to work and back.

iPhone - more than the sum of its parts.

iPhone is excellent, best phone I've owned. The all networks unlock will no doubt appear soon and mean you only have to pay the £269 asking price.

    42" LCD or PLasma?

I'm using the settings from AVF and so long as you zoom in the aspect ratio before leaving it unattended then you will avoid any onscreen logos. I leave my TV on the Virgin Media demo channel or start a dvd and leave it on A-B repeat.

    42" LCD or PLasma?

That's a good day then :) Are you going to bother with the run in period or use it at full quality settings immediately?

    42" LCD or PLasma?

His info concerning the Panasonic does seem to be in disagreement to everything I have ever read or been told about the TH42PX70. I'd guess he was speaking crap, thankfully you bought the same TV elsewhere :) When does it arrive?

    42" LCD or PLasma?

The guy in RS must have wanted the Panasonic for himself.

    42" LCD or PLasma?

Yeah SD looks amazing on my Panasonic in comparison to my old LCD. I'm surprised they treated you like that. Did the local shop offer the 5 year warranty?

    Your first phone

I had a terrible Philips Diga and a Nortel something or other back in 98 which was decidedly average. Had many phones since then.

    Hd Tv's

From all I've read and been told 1080P is only worthwhile on screens of 50" upwards.

    42" LCD or PLasma?

I can see me getting bored of the 200 hour run in period and setting it up with optimum viewing settings very soon. It's been on 18 hours now so that's better than nothing :D I'm delighted with it, a brilliant tv.

    42" LCD or PLasma?

Yes that's the right model and I purchased from the Edinburgh branch. The Glasgow branch also cinfirmed the same deal and from reading online others have got this throughout the UK. I don't know of the TV does some clever processing with the 24fps but if so you'll not notice the difference...

    42" LCD or PLasma?

It does support 24fps signals and I'm sitting watching a BD playing using this setting on my PS3. No motion blur that I have seen using my PS3.

    42" LCD or PLasma?

It's a standard offer in all RS stores. Panasonic are running the offer with selected UK retailers but only instore, if you check the Panasonic UK website you will see details. Great to see the TV supports 24fps BD playback via my PS3 :)

    42" LCD or PLasma?

Richer Sounds have them on sale at £799 but are running an ad in What Hi-Fi December issue with a marked price of £749 which they happily match instore. If you buy before 30th November then Panasonic will provide you with a 5 year manufacturer warranty. It is a bargain for the price. Now to...

    N82 announced

Not bad but I do not like the keypad. Do we know if it has a good SiRFIII GPS receiver or the same poor version found in the N95?

    Interesting iPhone development...

Yeah the auto correction is standard. Forget the £600 iPhone option, a simple unlock will be along soon for the £269 handset.

    Interesting iPhone development...

I feared that I would hate the text input but I'm every bit as quick using the iPhone as with any previous phone. You have to keep typing even if you have hit the wrong button, the auto correction is nearly always correct. I made the mistake on a friends iPhone of stopping and deleting incorrect...

    uninstalling software on a MAC?!

AppZapper does it all without any bother so I'm happy to use that.

    uninstalling software on a MAC?!

You can drag it into the trash but some stray files may be left behind.

I use AppZapper which makes sure you get all files removed from the HDD.

    Interesting iPhone development...

I've got to agree with MaLicE, the iPhone is excellent and far better for me than the N95 or other Nokia phones.

I disagree, as a phone it's actually very good.

    N95 8GB Black or iPhone

It has a Airplane mode so it shouldn't be a problem.

    N95 8GB Black or iPhone

I looked at both and opted for the iPhone. Glad I did because I far prefer it to all Nokia symbian phones I have owned. If you can get a good data plan with your current provider then it's worth buying a iPhone when the unlock is available. Free wifi is not much of a loss and I'm sure you can...
