Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
It runs :) BIG relief! but now I know my emulator or ECU is definitely knackered :( Just waiting for replacement emulator to arrive, if that doesnt fix my ECU then its got to be the ECU itself thats knackered!
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Just been on a four hour round trip with Wallace Travel Services to pick up Willy Lovers ECU, BIG Thanks for lending it me to try.
Not tried it yet as only just got back, will update with the verdict in the morning :)
Mines been cut off and the car is fine without it. Doesn't affect it if its unplugged, but as said if its shorting something on the ECU when plugged in that may do.
Ah awesome, so they do smaller ones with less pins too im guessing? Im going standalone over winter, so want to run my ECU internally on a plug like this just for the engine/sensor functions..
Heh. Ive been looking at those style, drill large hole then you have two sides that can be removed if need be for when I rewire over winter.... £59 sounds like an OK price to be honest!
How many pins does it have? Pics would be good whenever it shows up :)
Yeah, but hes got the advantage of no power steering and no air-con pump to drive on the AUX belt, alot on here have seen good gains with regards to torque from removing those :)

Probably loads more but they are the ones I have saved for one reason and another. The cheapest I found was my local...
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Aye, if only it was that simple :dapprove:
Just bought another emulator from the same place, as ive found out they all output the same signal to the ECU...so if my emulator has become faulty and I put the new one on there should not be any issue with it...
This is Part 2, containing 6 cars... Hutchie, Realnumber1, St3ve, Dave88, Topgeartom and Gray.

I was going to do the 'non clios' seperate, then realised I'd already included Gaz's MG lol. Anyway, as a result the only seperate one is Jamie Rigbys...

Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
You decode the ECU, then fit the Emu. Then when you turn ignition on the Emu provides ECU with signal and all works happily
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Ah cool, Adam as in Geesus yeah?
Thats been fitted the same as I did mine, with the immobiliser data line directly onto the circuit board. Yeah Ad had it done at RSTuning iirc.
Should be fine to try on a 172 then, could be a lifesaver if it runs fine!
Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
Did you get it from tek-tronics too mate? Or somewhere else? Cant remember if it was something you asked a while back
Edit. Also if you are testing it on a 172, make sure you snip pin 58 off your ECU so it cant make contact with the car in any way...
Cheers for the offer Chris, but the ECU is different on a Ph2 (if your on about your trophy items), plus the key/decoder runs through the UCH for its 'checking' of the stored immobiliser code :(
I need a Sirius32 ECU, think your Ph2 one is probably Sirius34 or 35, which is a different pinset...
I just dont have enough time to get one, wire it up, test it and get it mapped in 4 days :( Ive been trying different ECU's this morning to no avail, and come to the conclusion that it has to be the immobiliser. Im just trying to find somewhere that can de-code and test (and supply a new...
