Tdlr - car number 9 arrives
Some of you might have noticed that the passenger side arch on my yellow megane r26 is rusty. Mk2 meganes dont rust?! They do when they have had a new rear qtr fitted badly in the past and its full of bog.
Ive been looking for a solution for ages. I found...
Cheers mate! Had a look through the gopro footage and it was pretty crap sadly. I only put it on later on in the day and it was red flags every 2 mins. In and out of the pitso_O
Most garages wont have the ability to code airbag out unless renault specialists/correct software.
Not sure where you are based, but i can recalibrate it, im in the North East if anywhere near.
Updates
The blue dci seemed a bit slower and black smokey recently, bit intermittent as sometimes fine. Not sure if it was actually slower or felt slow after a week of driving the r26 fast as fcuk everywhere at Spa/Germany, but yeah thought it was worth a quick look at.
Stuck torque on it and...
Updates
Mrs was out in the blue clio yesterday and i needed to go out. Id normally jump in the r26 but its got no gearknob on it as its at the trimmers. Rest are sorn apart from the orange dci which is in limp. Best fix it eh!?
Usual fault stored when scanned with clip.
I bought a new...
Renault extra van are 24mm torsion bars, im sure they are more or less identical to the grp a. Not easy to find these days.
Im sure kangoo mk1 bars are 26 or 27mm from memory. No idea if they will fit.
Updates
Hit the switch last week on the turbo and a nice new Pulsar g25 660 arrived today.
Still need to source a couple of small items but almost ready to fit.
Prepare for takeoff in 2026 ;)
Updates
Washed the r26 after spa. Brake dust was horrendous and down both sides of the car. Good dose of fallout remover sorted that.
I think its pissed down with rain every day since cleaning.
Fitted an autodimming interior mirror. This is a plug and play upgrade, well it should have been...
Basically your issues are due to worn diff bearings. If you replace the clip and washer, it will go again.
Renfort is drilled and tapped into the diff casing. It does away with the circlip.
Brakes not related as clutch is cable and not hydraulic.
As above try lubing the cable, cable might be worn etc. Its a common issue on them, mine used to creak when hot. I personally think it was something to do with the clutch pressure plate
Unfortunately most top mounts are poor. I fitted snr top mounts to my dci, and they are also finished on 20'000 miles.
Oem renault top mounts might be best option.
Use the correct settings for the head bolts you are using.
To chuck a spanner in the works, im sure most f4r use the same headbolts..if that is the case id use 250 settings.
I used arp head studs on mine as i got them for free. They go down in ft/lb with no angle tighten. Yank shite
